[PTab=Profile] Character Details 1 Height / Weight : 5 ft 5 in / 116lbs Source : Greek Mythology & The Iliad Home Region : Thessaly, Greece Alignment : Chaotic Good Gender : Male Likes: Patroclus, women, men, oranges, grapes, keeping fit, fighting, dressing as a girl, did he mention Patroclus? His mother. Dislikes: Hector, Troy, Paris, Agamemnon, sewing, Fate Appearance Achilles in this state is not the paragon of masculine virtue people know, in this state he is a feminine sort having been garbed in the manner of a Princess by Thetis to prevent her beloved son from going to War. In this state he is very slight yet muscular, with just enough fat on him to soften his appearance and maintain the feminine look that was needed to hide him. His hair is bright red and in a series of unruly locks he can only tame with a leather thong tied to keep it in a pony tail. His body is otherwise rather lean with a flat stomach and a slight flare of the hips... strangely enough however he seems to have developed a rather firm posterior, making up in femininity for his otherwise flat chest. His legs are toned, and his knees just seem slightly swollen from too much running but otherwise it's easy to see that he's in perfect condition. His eyes are a yellow, seemingly mischievous and embodying the 16 year old girl he's portraying, some would even say there's the lust of youth hidden away in them. As for clothing he normally wears whatever's comfortable yet fashionable, he enjoys dressing in finery, meaning that summer dresses that come to mid thigh (especially in white!) are adored as they remind him a little of the chiton of his day and specifically made to appear like silken versions of such. This normally goes with a pair of sandals, always open toed to show off his perfectly pedicured toenails, for the same reason he neglects gloves when relaxing to show his delicate looking hands off. When dressing for combat he goes for classic hoplite garb, red cloak and bronze armour and helm, the armour includes bracers and forearm guards, the complete look for the legendary (well, almost legendary at this stage) Greek Warrior. Personality In this state Achilles is a capricious sort, not in an unstable prone to mood swings way but more that he's prone to lose and gain interest in things rather quickly. He is a passionate young man, that takes a lot to heart and seemingly wears his honest heart on his sleeve. The most significant things however that never change happens to be his love of glory, his pride, his honour, and very importantly at the minute is his enjoyment of dressing and wearing the guise of a girl. His pride and love for glory, as well as his honour link into this idea he has in his head of war being a glorious and a fantastic thing. He hasn't kissed the cold cheek of Patroclus, nor has he felt the bitter pain of charging into battle to avenge a friend rather than just going to fight for honour and fame. This means that he has a very romantic view of war, for while he never loses his taste for fighting later on he learns of the cost that comes with war. His passion and uncertain mood comes across as great enthusiasm, he's always willing to help and try new things and always puts his heart and soul into whatever he does. This blunt almost naive honesty highlights his teenagehood, and shows his lighter side uncorrupted by the weight of blood on his hands. What people will notice as well is that he is always cheery and ladylike in his mannerisms, he's cutesy at times, and otherwise emulates a more female type of persona or at least what people usually associate with females. This includes fondness for puppies, hugs, and a tendency to gossip and blush... especially concerning the boys. He enjoys the persona greatly, even valuing the name Pyrrha dearly, taking great pride in dressing up and spending time perfecting the visage his mother bestowed upon him. He takes insult to being referred to as manly in this state, seeing his femininity as a point of pride due to the intense work that went into giving him the guise as well as an insult against his mother. Anyone that insinuates his mother does shoddy work rarely stays in his good books wrong. He is overwhelming extremes, in him lies the Achilles that in grief defiled Hector's body, all the potential for that lies within the persona known as Pyrrha. He is generous and kind and loving, his bisexuality and appetite means that he has the potential to love anyone and everyone. Such bonds are taken to the heart, and when those he cares for are hurt he rarely stops to think about his own safety when trying to avenge their wrongs. History Born of the nymph Thetis and the King Peleus, Achilles came about as a result of a prophecy that stated that Thetis would birth a son greater than his father. This meant that otherwise insatiable gods were all of a sudden put off from trying to acquire the hand of Achilles' mother, and so she ended up falling in love with Peleus and producing Achilles'. His invulnerability comes from his mother's wish to protect her son from death and injury, and so she took him to the river Styx and dipped him in. From this moment forth he was under divine protection, and no wholly mortal man nor weapon would do him harm... though his mother never stopped worrying about his heel and the potential for him to lose his protection if struck there. That coupled with his warrior destiny made things difficult, and so it was determined by his parents that he would need to train underneath the best and become strong to defend his vulnerable spot. His father Peleus entrusted his education in the arts and in warfare to the Centaur Chiron, he was determined for his son to get the best education a Greek at the time could hope for. He received just that. And by the time he reached the age of 16 he had grown into a powerful figure, lithe, fast, and lethal to those that would face him. He was every inch a warrior prince, and even at the young age the prophecy could easily be seen to have come true, he had surpassed his father who himself had been a mighty hero who did combat alongside Heracles, he was blessed and everything seemed to be fine for the young Greek. But then his mother saw the Trojan War begin, and Thetis worried, she knew that her young son would be in great demand for fame of him war already spreading. So she had to find a way to keep him from combat. This led to her disguising him in the form of a girl, and calling him Pyrrha. She bestowed a guise upon him, a slender one, and showed him the arts of a woman that he branded in his mind for the easing of his mother's worries. He was hidden at the court of Lycomedes, king of Skyros. There, Achilles is disguised as a girl was safe amongst the daughters of the king. It's there this younger version stayed, with his younger self at this point in time not being brought into the war by Odysseus and him not having hardened his nerve and his heart in the crucible of combat. Though he likes the disguise somewhat, and has deeply embraced the identity. Misc. He enjoys walks, and running. He likes the modern sport of basketball. He secretly gets a little embarrassed though proud that the Achilles' tendon was named after him. |
