Usually, Ravana keeps his true form 'sealed' within his armor, mostly as a cost-saving measure. However, at any time, Ravana can dismiss his armor, revealing his true form as a Rakshasa, a towering demon with multiple arms.
He gains a rank up in STR (from C to B), however, remaining in this true form for prolonged periods makes him more of a drain on mana.
In addition to the above, Ravana may sprout additional arms and heads as he sees fit, as well as alter his height. His height in this state is by default 10 ft (304 cm), though he can vary his height anywhere between 6 ft(182 cm) and 20 ft (609 cm) tall, with some strain.
|
Skill 02 | Expert of Many Specializations - Rank B | A skill denoting a varied set of talents. At any given moment, Ravana can switch between his ten heads (usually an unseen process, given his helmet), changing his specialization as the situation calls. These specializations are: Swordplay, Archery, Hand to Hand Combat, Astronomy, Medicine, Music, Tactics, Politics, Wealth-Management, and Law. |
Skill 03 | Charisma - Rank B- | The natural talent to command an army. Increases the ability of allies during group battles. At this rank, the skill is suitable for a king of a country. However, due to the reputation of becoming a conquering tyrant later in life, this skill suffers from a negative modifier. |
Class Skills Skill 01 | Magic Resistance - Rank C | Cancel spells with a chant below two verses. Cannot defend against Magecraft on the level of High-Thaumaturgy and Greater Rituals. In Ravana's case, this skill should be higher, but due to his fall from "Loyal devotee of Shiva" to "Villainous tyrant king", he lost favor, and some of the blessings he had gained through his righteousness waned. |
Skill 02 | Riding - Rank A | The ability to ride mounts. All creatures but those of Phantasmal Beast and Divine Beast-rank can be used as mounts. |
Noble Phantasm | Pushpaka Vimana - Stolen Throne of Golden Lanka | Rank: A+ | Type: Anti-Army | The magnificent flying chariot created by Vishwakarma, gifted to Brahma, who then bestowed it upon Kubera, god of wealth, king of Lanka, and half-brother to the rakshasa Ravana. When Ravana took Lanka's throne, he also gained all of its treasures, including the golden vimana. While the vimana found within the Gate of Babylon served as the inspiration for Vishwakarma's work, he made various design adjustments to make the resultant aircraft a suitable throne room, allowing for multiple people to remain inside and speak to the ruler. In essence, the modification trades speed and maneuverability for bulk and opulence.
In truth, the Pushpaka is more akin to a high-tech aircraft, some would even say a spaceship. It can reach mach one, and its spacious interior is fashioned as a king's court, with a golden throne from which Ravana has control over all of the ship's functions and weapon systems, including various laser cannons. This court is large enough to accommodate five people in addition to Ravana. Unlike other models of vimana, the Pushpaka focuses less on speed and maneuverability, instead presenting itself as a flying castle. The Pushpaka takes a good chunk of mana to materialize, but due to its unique engine, it takes far less to maintain.
The other unique function of this vimana is the source of its description as 'resembling the sun' - by activating the Surya Field, the Pushpaka is surrounded by a sphere of flame, resembling a miniature sun. It is a powerful defensive field, negating attacks below A-rank, and also can be used for offense by ramming opponents with the ship. However, this feature of the ship is costly; if used for more than seven minutes, it will have drained the vimana's engines, and begin siphoning away the magical energy making up the ship itself, leaving all inside of it to fall. As such, Ravana tends to save it for emergency situations. |
| Boon of Brahma - Peerless King's Undying Body | Rank: B | Type: Anti-Unit (Self) | For years, Ravana had performed a penance to the creator god Brahma, repeatedly decapitating himself and being revived. After ten decapitations, Brahma was pleased with the rakshasa's austerity, and appeared before him. After granting Ravana nine additional heads, he offered the demon a gift. Ravana first asked for immortality, but Brahma refused. Instead, Ravana asked this of the creator:
"Grant unto me invulnerability and supremacy over gods, heavenly spirits, rakshasa, serpents and all other beasts of the earth!"
It was this boon that Brahma granted. As a Servant, Ravana's boon is slightly weakened; instead of complete invulnerability, any attacks made toward him by opponents of Divine, Demonic, or Monstrous origin hit at one third efficiency, and will struggle to end his life, especially in drawn out confrontations, much like a cockroach if it is not completely stomped out in an instant.
However, the major weakness in this defensive Phantasm lies in Ravana's arrogance. Deciding that mortal man was no threat to his might, he left them out of the terms of his invulnerability. As such, humans (and heroic spirits of purely human origin) have a grave advantage over Ravana, as they are able to bypass his boon's defenses and attack at full force, and even slay him.
It is important to note that, due to the nature of their history, attacks made by Rama (and any other avatar of Vishnu) will completely ignore the resistance to Divinity. |
| Chandrahas - The Destroyer Moon Doth Grin [Requires Interlude] | Rank: A+ | Type: Anti-Army | Ravana's arrogance had once led him to cross Shiva's path, and as a result, the god trapped the rakshasa's little finger beneath a mountain. Realizing his mistake and hoping to atone, Ravana composed the hymn Shiva Tandava Stotram praising Shiva, playing accompanying strings using the nerves of his arm. Impressed and pleased, he released Ravana and granted him a powerful sword, the unbreakable Chandrahas. The sword came with a warning, however; if ever used for unjust causes, the blade would return to Shiva, and Ravana's days would be numbered. As such... the Noble Phantasm is not currently in Ravana's posession.
The true power of Chandrahas in unleashed when Ravana calls its name. Holding his hand above his head, the sword rises and begins spinning, becoming a whirling blade of Shiva's destructive might. When hurled by Ravana, the disc of destruction cuts through everything in its path like a buzzsaw, reducing everything it cuts through into ashes and dust as it utterly 'destroys' them, before returning to Ravana's grasp.
Perhaps, some day, Ravana may redeem himself. And if that happens... it is not unlikely that Chandrahas would return to him. |
[/PTab] [PTab=Profile]Character Details 1 Source : Ramayana Home Region : India Alignment : Neutral Evil (Struggling to redeem himself, however) Gender : Male Natural enemy: Rama Servant classes: Rider, Caster, Saber, Berserker, Archer Also Known As: King of Lanka, Emperor of the Three Worlds Character Details 2 The legendary demon king that serves as the main antagonist of the Hindu epic Ramayana. A cruel tyrant that subjugated humans, beasts, gods, and even his own race of demons, he was immune to retribution by all except mortal man. Taking the form of the human Rama, the god Vishnu hoped to save the world from this horrible monster. When Ravana kidnapped Rama's wife, Sita, the conflict finally happened... a long war waged between Ravana's army of demons and Rama's followers, including a race of monkeys. Finally, in single combat, Rama felled the rakshasa king of Lanka with the Brahmastra. A fitting end to a horrible being. And yet... Character Details 3 Earlier in his life, Ravana was a strange case. Arrogant and brash, he forced his half-brother Kubera to surrender the throne of the island fortess Lanka to him. And yet, the kingdom prospered under his rule; even the poorest citizens had dishes of gold to eat and drink from, and not a single of his subjects ever went hungry. In addition, the gods Brahma and Shiva saw fit to grant Ravana gifts... and beyond that, he was known for contributions to several fields... he authored books on astronomy and medicine, and wrote a beautiful hymn dedicated to Lord Shiva. Indeed, he even invented the instrument known as the ravanahatha. Character Details 4 The war was sparked when Ravana's sister Surpanakha found herself smitten with the beautiful Rama. Rejected, she tried to attack Sita, but Rama's brother Lakshmana cut off her nose. Humiliated and disfigured, she first turned to her brother Khara, who led an army of rakshasa to avenge his sister, but was slain by Rama. She then turned to Ravana, goading him to kidnap Sita. He did so, setting the war in motion. His brother Vibhishana spoke up, telling him to return Rama's bride. When Ravana refused, Vibhishana defected, joining Rama's army. During the war, Ravana roused his closest sibling, the mighty demon Kumbhakarna. Kumbhakarna berated his brother's wicked ways, telling him he had strayed from the path of dharma. And yet, out of love for his brother and a sense of duty, the giant warrior went to war with the approaching army. Before being slain by Rama, Kumbhakarna praised Vibhishana for choosing the right path. Character Details 5 Currently, Ravana is a man with great regrets. His campaign of conquest, the kidnapping of Sita, the defection of Vibhishana, sending Kumbhakarna to die in a war that he never believed in, and the deaths of his seven sons... these things weigh heavily on his mind, and he silently wonders when his arrogance completely overtook him, and he ceased being the king that brought Lanka to prosperity. At the same time... his personality is much the same. Bold, brash, and sure of his immense power. He still wears his titles with pride and carries himself with the presence of a warrior king. Yet, somewhere inside of him, the words of his brothers echo in his mind... and a spark is lit inside of him. A curiosity and a desire... can he atone for what he became, and return to what he once was? [/PTab][/PTabbedContent={width:430px;tab-alignment=center;}] |
