<div style="width:200px;height:100px;padding:10px;border:10px ridge red;"> Tohsaka’s eyes turned around as she felt the small blast of heat against her back and noticed the steam erupting from the white blanket of snow. Already it had seemed that a small radius of it had melted due to the effects from the overloaded gem. Seeing that Ciel was already taking care of the young master Misha, her own attention was currently fixated on what caused the magical explosion in the first place, if it could be called that. Rin’s quick intuition now led her to believe that the cause of such a thing might’ve been her fault, a suspicion that was confirmed when she reached down and picked up the glimmering ruby, still warm but not nearly hot enough to burn her leather gloves at any rate. Taking one glance over at the young magus who was apologizing profusely and then back at the gem, figuring out rather quickly what was going on.
Rin wasn’t particularly skilled at being a detective, but she was skilled at deducing uses of magecraft as well as their intentions. She could swear she had loaded just the right amount of prana into the gem, though she even did a bit less just so she could be safe. Honestly, the outfits had gotten her into the habit of using far less magical energy than she could to maximize potential, so it was most likely not her fault. That could only mean Misha had charged it up instead and caused the overload, “quite the interesting magical trait indeed…” Tohsaka mused as she stood back up and slid the now inactive gem right back into her coat pocket. Seeing that the boy was mostly alright, she walked over and offered a gentle smile before messing up his hair playfully.
“No need to apologize, my father used to tell me that every failure will eventually lead to a greater success, just make sure you aren’t hurt in the process,” alright Tokiomi never said that to her, but she was willing to make things up in order to lift the spirits of any aspiring mage. Though this little inspirational moment would be short lived however as a strange and savage growl was heard off in the distance, forcing Tohsaka’s attention towards the woods. “We shouldn’t delay too long, Ciel cover me and I’ll go on ahead…” Rin ruminated before she made her way towards the woods and whatever awaited them.
