A rose without thorns; an Aspen both gallant and beautiful. Miska is easily mistaken either as a pretty boy or a pretty girl, as his face showed both qualities. Under the mesh of subdued red hair are two bright eyes that seemed almost orange, shone with a light that reminds one of an eager learner. His lips are soft and his smile sincere, though due to his inner belief to be “lordly” they can intertwine with condescending smirk. His face is smooth like a young lady, and maybe he has a right to call himself one.
She is rather short, at around 155 cm, and she has rather lanky build but with a sure touch of finesse in there. Because her spell puts special emphasis on bodyly function, she was taught to always train her body and her weapons ability. She keeps her posture straight and smart in front of others, although she is actually more comfortable in a slightly hunched, demure demeanor. It is a testament to her family that she can always play prim and proper if she is in the right condition. She can be find in any range of clothes, most of them trousers and long-sleeved shirts, although for missions she uses a cape and outfit made by her nanny, with flame motifs. It made her look more in tune with the heroes of old, and she certainly liked the part.
While never seen in a skirt, Miska does apply makeup. Not much- usually just skin lotion and transparent lip balm to prevent dryness. They are something anyone of any gender can use.

Miska’s most noticeable trait is her tenacity. She is not one to give up, and would try to solve one problem long after others have given up. Her upbringing means she is well-mannered and mindful of others, but also carries a certain snobbishness. She is intelligent, quick to learn from her mistakes and is not afraid to correct others who do such. She is also honest to a fault –except for one thing.
Unfortunately, it was instilled in him early that one day he would become head of a noble family, and so he felt himself pressured to be “lordly”. This can easily leads him to be quite bossy, but due to his non-confrontational nature this can quickly leads to awkward situations, and major heartache. Finding himself difficult to share feelings openly, he often keeps things to himself and suffering as the result. In these times he usually resort to books and training to distract himself. His soft heart coupled with strong sense of duty means he can be easily hurt by others refusing to do as he told them to do, especially if he thinks he is right. This can be a problem, as he has a vengeful streak and is not very good in forgiving. But again due to his lack of self-confidence, this will worry him more rather than the other person. He also has an incredible knack to be misunderstood. Constant attempt to assert authority and lack of spine to back it: he is a perfect bullying target for the sharper tongue.
Due to the nature of her spell and her sorcery trait, school can only provide little, and so her father opted not to enroll her at a school at all. This makes her pretty much inexperienced in group work, and she sometimes finds the prospect of speaking out loud intimidating. But she has to- she is the Master! Ooh this is very confusing…
Apart from his training, the only other thing he likes is reading, especially folktales and legends. Due to this, he has a vast amount of knowledge of heroes and famous people and their associated legends. His favorites include: Wang Zhaojun, Anabasi, Pedro II of Brazil, Pocahontas, Sir Roland, Brynhildr the Valkyrie, Hector of Troy, Queen Tamar, and many others. However, his favorite is King Arthur, whom he viewed as the perfect example of a ruler, and as a result he abhors Sirs Lancelot and Mordred due to their actions resulting in the fall of Camelot.
As a person, her natural enemy is the witty type: someone with malicious streak and sharp tongue that can avoid her textbook arguments with clever remarks. Miska often finds herself helpless in dealing with such person. Her favorite type of person is someone who cares about other’s feelings, never attempting to throw insults and at the same type keeps the integrity of the team. Also, a natural leader will find themselves highly valued by Miska. She herself lacks the quality of a leader, but since she has to lead one day she is willing to learn the ropes.[/PTab={width: 350px;height:500px; overflow:auto; font-size:11px;font-family:helvetica neue;color:#545454;text-align:justify;padding:5px;background-color:#fdfdfd;line-height:10px;border-right:15px solid #003D99;tab-transform:rotate(270deg);tab-border:0px;tab-transform-origin:97% 50%;tab-font-size:8px;tab-background-color:#003D99;}]
[PTab=HISTORY]
“Who is my mother?”
That was the first question he remembered asking.
It was a warm afternoon, humid after a lengthy rain. He was playing with his dolls on the foot of his father’s chair, when a conversation from the school reminded him of the question.
And so he asked.
Her father’s answer were not words, but a book, in which rested few of the precious photos of her mother. In it she saw a young woman with long black hair and one of the saddest faces she had ever seen. Only in one photo did she smile; a very beautiful smile.
It was when she held the newborn baby: her.
Years later he would add many things to the initial story. That his mother was a foreigner. That she was of Chinese descent. That she died giving birth because she was too young. His nanny would say on and on how his father had saved his mother from an evil Organization, and that her only happiness was having a son of her own.
But looking at the taciturn man with glasses, from whom laughter was rarely heard and whose job he wasn’t even sure, the child could not help but wonder whether this was true.
***
Born as the only child of Kopparsvard family line, Miska’s childhood only lacked his mother. As far as he remembered he was only with his father, and during their many trips abroad there were only two of them. Although rooted in Nordic clans, his father extensive travels meant that Miska spent most of his years abroad. In fact, most his childhood was spent in a South East Asia Nation called Indonesia, a perpetually green country with hot tropical climate. Miska knew little of Nordic tradition as a result, but this never bothered him at all.
When she grew older she learned of her place in society. There were three Magus Families collectively called The Three Families which claimed descent from Archimedes of Syracuse himself. Kopparsvard belongs to the Third, and since earliest history the Three Families had blended science and magic together. Some condemned them as heretics. Others viewed them as nobles. But whatever outside opinion to them was, there was no denying their ancient lineage, and the contribution they had made to the advancement of both fields were enormous. Even The Third Family, the lowest in rank, still held high regard and considerable influences.
Early in his teens he returned to the snowy Nordic lands. His great-grandfather had passed away, giving the mantle of leadership to Miska’s grandfather. And as was customary, the next-in-line would start to attend to family affairs and its relation to the Three Families. This meant Miska’s father was often out for duty, leaving Miska only with his nanny and his sometimes visiting cousins. Never good with making friends, these years were Miska’s loneliest times. He couldn’t stand the cold due to growing up in a tropical country, so he was forced to wear mantle all the time. It didn’t help too that his cousins from the First and Second Family looked down on him- essentially bullying him. Perfecting his spell was the only thing he enjoyed doing, and it was only after many dreary months that he found another thing he loved.
It started with her nanny giving her the Gesta Danorum, which she finished in two weeks. Soon the young Miska was enthralled by those ancient stories and began to read voraciously. She read of stories of kings and princes, of knights and their adventures. She imagined of unicorns and beautiful fairies playing in their lakes, and the face of Melusina when she found out about her cheating husband. She read of King Arthur and his knights, of mighty Alexander and stalwart Kristina; and the many trials and tribulations of the famed twins Hunahpu and Xbalanque. She sailed with Odysseus and rode with Brynhildr; She witnessed the brutality of Ken Arok and danced with Anabasi and even cried when Song Jian had to meet his end. It was a beautiful world out of her snowy abode, and it was a world of words she always found herself returning to.
His father was not entirely absent however. Sometimes he would return for a week and during that time he used as much time to be with his child. Miska learned how to properly act as a Kopparsvard, how to wield himself as a member of one of the most powerful families in Nordland. His father told him to be strong and continue to perfect the single art their whole Third Family specialized in. He told him also to always act “like a man” since only males can be a family leader. He learned later that his father also had two other children, but instead of fearing them Miska felt happy. With his grandfather still alive and three other spares should the heir-to-be perspired his family’s future was all but secured.
Then one day her father told her that she should start facing the world. She was sent to a snowy mountain base under a mysterious organization called Chaldea. Whether it was because of her talents or the fact that the Three Families were one of the pivotal founders of the organization she would never know. She knew however, that she would be working with Servants, and that she would be one of their Master. Never one to be initiated to the Holy Grail War, Miska’s first thought was that she had to show her authority towards the beings, but she soon understood the real truth: they were actually spirits of ancient heroes, summoned by a complex system involving Throne of Heroes.
The child could not be happier. He could meet the legends face-to-face. His nanny presented him with a mantle in fire motifs which he wore habitually. He had passed his preliminary test with better-than-average results and he was determined to do his best in the next. Meanwhile, he needed to send a weekly report to his father, like he had told him to do.
Something bothered her though. It seemed that another people tried to contact her. She could sometimes had a tinge of “understanding” that her communications within Chaldea were consistently jammed….
But it cannot be, right? Besides, they said what she did was for the best of mankind.[/PTab={width: 350px;height:500px;overflow:auto; font-size:11px;font-family:helvetica neue;color:#545454;text-align:justify;padding:5px;background-color:#fdfdfd;line-height:10px;border-right:15px solid #003D99;tab-transform:rotate(270deg);tab-border:0px; tab-transform-origin:97% 50%;tab-font-size:8px;tab-background-color:#003D99;}]

Magic Circuits:
23 Magic Circuits, capable of handling 30 units of magical energy each for a maximum output of 690 units of magical energy.
Elemental Affinity:
Average One
Although The Three Families as a whole is a very ancient lineage, tracing themselves to Archimedes of Syracuse, their loose rules and highly volatile nature meant that each member strength is an anomaly if one looks at their lineage. Miska’s family the Kopparsvard is regarded as 9th generation Magus family, and Miska is only as strong as such. Thanks the trait inherited from his mother, his Magic Circuits is regarded as highly efficient and can replenish faster than usual. However, his storage capability is considered subpar. This is one reason why Miska always feels the need to move and do something.
Also, her affinity to all five elements is a great boon. It enables her more leeway to tamper with a system.
Sorcery Trait:
Understanding
A Sorcery Trait with various names, but which within the Three Families is called “Understanding” for simplicity. Another more fanciful name for it is “The Gift of The Intelligent”. Shared by all Three Families descended from Archimedes, it is the inherent ability to understand the theories, laws, mechanisms, or interactions in any “system” one encountered. Even highly abstract systems such as human interactions can be broken down to its basic parts and each being “understood” in relation to the whole. In a particularly good mind it can even recreate the system in its entirety, along with every possible input and outcome.
Unique in the sense that understanding is also inherent in any thinking beings, even animals, in The Three Families this inherent ability is greatly enhanced to such a degree that their definition of “complex” is what others would call “unintelligible”. However, the amount of effort needed is not lessened: only the probability that one will “understand” and its understanding capacity increases. But true to its nature, this effect is different in every individuals, even in siblings.
The understanding of this Sorcery Trait itself is still a hot topic of debate among The Three Families.

Name:
Πιο αποτελεσματική (pio apotelesmatikí)
Πιο αποτελεσματική (pio apotelesmatikí)
Spell Rank:?
Concepts:
Each and every Magus of The Third Family live only to learn one thing: How to improve an existing system. It is said that: the First Family is worthy enough to Discover, The Second Family is able to Assemble, while The Third Family can only Improve. It wasn’t until the 12th century that there was a significant schism in the Three Families: the branching of Third Family into two sub-families, one concerned with “effectiveness”, the other with “efficiency”. Miska’s own Kopparsvard family belongs to the former, with its signature spell “Πιο αποτελεσματική” as opposed to “Πιο αποδοτική“. In simplest terms, Πιο αποτελεσματική user can make a car with maximum speed of 100 km/h consuming 1 L of gasoline to go up to 150 km/h using the same amount of gasoline, while user of Πιο αποδοτική will be able to ride the car at its maximum speed (100km/h) using only 0,5 L of gasoline.
Another significant event happened in 17th century, when a member of “efficiency” found that, by regarding her own body as a system, she was able to apply her spell to her own body. Her body was said to run very efficiently that she needed food only once a week. This discovery soon disseminated to the other members.
Πιο αποτελεσματική, as described by the venerable Karl Sven in his 18th century treatise, generally consists of eight steps:
1. Understanding the concept of creation
2. Analyzing the basic structures
3. Picturing the interactions in relation of the structures
4. Determining the laws of operation
5. Imagining the mechanism in action
6. Improving the system via means such as: reinforcing the structures and/or changing the interactions and/or manipulating the laws of operation, etc in order to increase the outcome.
7. Maintaining the improved system
8. Preventing breakdown
Of course due to its very nature, these steps are different to each individual, with some professed having designed up to twenty-two steps to apply their craft. Miska himself finds the fifth step to be the most troublesome.
Due this great variation, it is virtually impossible to classify the spell in rank. However, the Three Families (because they refuse to acknowledge something as impossible) has managed to assign the usual Clock Tower ranking system to its members, based on their average proficiency of using the spell compared to others in their Family. This is almost useless however, due to the fact that each system differs in its complexity. Making a kitchen knife able to cut 300% sharper may qualify only for D rank, while bringing a highly complex and failure-prone system such as an aeroplane to only 120% of its maximum outcome may qualify for A rank.
With this system, Miska’s Πιο αποτελεσματική as a whole is classified as “C” in potential, which, in regards to her age, shows promise that it can still grow exponentially.

Effects:
Using his personal incantation “Improvement, begins.”, Miska’s “C” ranked Πιο αποτελεσματική spell allows him to improve various things. Do note that he has to properly “understand” the system before putting his spell to work- an intelligent process than can take years:
• His sword, which he has thorough understanding of. By focusing on the outcome of “it cuts something” Miska’s sword is almost five times sharper than a steel sword of same quality, comparable to a diamond. Consumes 1 units of Magical Energy per second.
• A usual pistol would be able to penetrate 150% harder and 170% longer than original. (2 units).
• She can bring a simple motorbike up to 150% its maximum speed, provided that its parts can handle the stress. (2 units).
• A toaster can toast a bread 250% faster (and two times more likely to produce burned toast!) (2 units)
• A car is more complex, at present she can only bring its maximum speed to 130% of original (3 units)
• By focusing on his muscle movements and blood supply, Miska can move and react two times faster than usual. (4 units).
• Focusing on the effectiveness of her ocular lens enables her to attain 20/1 vision, while focusing on her rod cells enable her eyes to be three times more sensitive to light (2 units).
Note that Πιο αποτελεσματική have a constant side effect. That is, they lessen the lifespan of the system components (the reverse is true for Πιο αποδοτική). The fact that human body continually renew itself mitigates this somewhat on its use on human body, but the same cannot be said for other objects. Also, reinforcing the parts involved is essential. Πιο αποτελεσματική user that neglect to identify and strengthen a part of the system will find the system breaks down as they bring it over their maximum output. And surely, a broken motorbike cannot do much.
