Plot summary
The idea behind why everyone is here is quite simple: humanity wanted to keep existing. Because some very resourceful people noticed that there were several threats to the survival of the species, they banded together and created "Chaldea", an organization whose goal is to make sure these threats are neutralized. This has been going on for a while, but recently it came across an obstacle that seemed unsurpassable- an unknown future cataclysm that is predicted to eliminate all of mankind. Chaldea discovered this through a series of "projects", the details of which are currently archived in their databaseUsing all resources at hand, including the summoning of Heroic Spirits and the scouting of talented people , the organization began building a workforce capable of challenging this fate. The nature of their task relies going back in time and solving peculiar anomalies know and "Time-Space Singularities". These are series of events that should not exist, that have somehow popped into the past and are suspected of being the cause for the sudden change of course in humanities near future. The process used to reach these areas is a form of time travel known as "Ray Shifting" and more information about it can be found here. You are an Agent for Chaldea. Your task is to go on assignments into these Singularities, understand what's causing them and try to fix them.

Character creation: ServantsSpiritual entities of the highest degree, they are manifestations legendary heroes from the past. Originally, these entities were called forth systematically by the will of a closed conflict called the Holy Grail War - however, Chaldea has found a way to summon them through other means. Details on this process can be found here. So you're making a Servant. These are spiritual beings that shouldn't exist by nay natural law. Because of this, you're kinda stuck to some annoying limitations: -You need magical energy to exist. This stuff is what keeps you kickin', normal living things produce it but you need to go get it from somewhere else. Fortunately, Chaldea gives you a bunch of it for free when you're resting inside of the base, and you only really need to worry about it depleting when you're not inside the base. That's why we keep human Masters around. -You need an anchor. What's an anchor? Well, it's essentially a connection that keeps the Servant grounded, preventing all the annoying "fading-out-existence" symptoms that happen when your existence moving impossibility. All Servants currently being summoned are anchored to Chaldea itself, but much like magical energy, this link doesn't work when you're outside of the premises. If you don't have someone to serve as your anchor then it will be like you're hemorrhaging prana. Useful links:

Character creation: MastersMasters - or in this case, Provisional Masters - are the anchor to the Servant that will accompany them on missions to ensure them maximum efficiency in battle. They are typically magi, magical researchers of many kind brought in by Chaldea, employing a range of unorthodox skills both in the heat of the battlefield and the complex laboratories of the Chaldea base. They are usually well versed in magecraft, the art of using magical energy found in the world and produced by oneself and reproducing phenomenon. As Agents, they go into the past and have their own set of assignments that servants are unable to do. Details on this can be found here. Because of the nature of time travel, they lose their ability to use magecraft and magic related items when in the past. Corrective equipment has to be worn, and this takes the form of Formal Wear. Formal Wear is a type of thaumaturgical equipment produced by Chaldea to allow a certain amount of spells to be used when in different ages. MissionsMissions are the main form of role-playing action on this website. You can start threads anywhere regardless, but you will only receive quartz for missions you're officially signed up for. You also can't jump into mission threads that you're not part of, and most non-mission threads should be restricted to the Chaldea Base. To sign up, just go to the mission bulletin board, and post in a mission info thread asking to be added to the list. The first person to do this will become the party leader (assuming they meet the requirements), and is in charge of starting the thread in the coordinate area, and also of closing it by posting in the reported missions area. Items and RewardsWith the Quartz you receive from missions and events, you can buy items and other perks in the the "Chaldea Service Request" board. You can check how many Quartz you have in your profile, and you receive them shortly after mission is finished and submitted in the "list of completed missions". To buy items, just create a thread for your character and whenever you want to make purchases post in it. Wait for a staff to reply as they will confirm the transaction and allow you to use the item purchased. Useful links
