Personal Skills Skill 01 | High-Speed Incantation: E | In the case of Hans Christian Andersen, it does not represent the speed at which he can recite spells but rather the speed at which he produced manuscripts. At rank E he can produce works fairly quickly, but only if he knows what he wants to do and is willing.
|
Skill 02 | Human Observation: A | The ability to notice and analyse the behavior of those he sees. It's a skill that derives from studying the human condition and it allows the user to "see through" people. Huge amounts of data can be perceived out of simple examination and the true identity and patterns of enemies will be astonishingly easier to reach because of this.
His ability at this is so high that he can even perfectly see through anyone he analyzes, almost as if he's reading them from a writer's perspective. What he sees is undoubtedly true, but his interpretations of it are still heavily colored by his own personality. |
Skill 03 | Curses of the Readers (Innocent Monster) | A property possessed by servants whose legends have tainted their original form. Regardless of the truth, the fame they had and the false image held by thousands manifest under this skill. He has burn marks all over his body, his throat aches along with his voice being tones deeper due to frostbite, and his legs are riddled with fish scales.
Readers tend to try and imagine the author of the story. Caster is mutated by these ideas, and even his personality has gone sour, since people always saw him as a "Demon who loves bad ends" |
Class Skills Skill 01 | Item Construction: C
| Trough his noble phantasm, Caster can more or so create items that you'd expect to see in one of his fairy tales. Magical artifacts or merely objects of medieval appearance can both be generated, but this is an alternate use of the book's true ability so it isn't that effective. |
Skill 02 | Territory Creation: D | Hans can create a study to improve the speed of of his writing and reading. It's...Rarely productive. |
Noble Phantasm
| Marchen Meines Lebens: A Story Just For You | Rank: C | Type: Anti-Unit | The original tome of Hans Christian Andersen's autobiography. It represents his very core as a writer, a man that always believed that each tale, story, and character, were exaggerated facets of the author himself. To him, his pen worked like a house of mirrors, warping and reflecting his true self as it wrote. This final compilation is the legendary symbol of the world's admiration for the writer that he was, receiving massive magical power from the undying belief his many fans provide. It provides Hans with a bulky supply of prana and it morphs him into "the Andersen that the readers felt they saw”.
Caster was not a magus in life and possessed no knowledge of thaumaturgy at all so he depends on this tome to be able to cast anything. Rather than it being the tome's own power, it relies on the energy provided by his fans to actualize the writing in it's pages and bring forth the products of his mind.
It's true ability isn't creating inanimate objects, but elevating a person into "heroic" status. As he fills the pages of the book with text detailing someone's tale, the target of his narrative will experience a gradual transformation into the protagonist of the story. Regardless of their original ability, they will become the main character they need to be to fit into whatever story Hans has masterfully crafted for them, receiving any abilities and traits that they possessed in the novel. This metamorphosis is deeply tied to the progress of the novel, being very hard to notice in the initial stages but eventually allowing the targets to reach their "perfect selves" upon the conclusion of the manuscript. It's effects are directly tied to the portion of the story already written and it's only completed when the protagonist has gone through enough events of development.
On a first glance, it seems like a tremendously powerful effect but the truth is that it's riddled with inconveniences. Although Hans is free to write whatever he wants, the book relies on his identity as an author to work: He will not pencil down any developments that he does not agree with, and any threads of plot that go against his style of storytelling wouldn't even take effect. For a piece to be authentic, the target of the story must inspire the writer in some way. All of this means that it can take extensive time for him to finish the work, and in many cases he might even be unable to create it for someone. Also, the fairy tale writer has some very bad tendencies as a writer of not allowing "cheap happiness" in his novels, thinking of death as a more suitable end to a story. Becoming the star of his work means that you are almost sure to meet a tragic end somehow.

[PTab=Profile]Character Details Height / Weight : 88.0 pounds 4 feet 10 Source : 19th century Denmark Home Region : Denmark Alignment : True Neutral Gender : Male
Characterization Most would consider him foul-mouthed and rude, an idea that is indeed partially correct. It’s true that he has no qualms at all with insulting someone in their face, however, one should note that there is never spec any malice behind his acts. His insults and criticisms are not meant to hurt or humiliate. He does it all serving the one thing he truly cares about, the one thing that could possibly, somehow validate his life; His freedom.
He considers himself a completely ordinary person, below average even, but his talent is unrelated to that. By being so painfully simple, he is capable of seeing past the barriers and puzzles of humanity, reaching a very fitting “simple truth”. Because that’s the one thing that he has, it’s the only thing that matters to him. To swallow his words, and attempt to smother this gift would be equal to killing everything he is. Truth for truth’s sake.
Behind this he is quite the normal human being, a lot closer to normal humans than most servants would be. He secretly wishes everyone could be happy and free, but this side of him fully buried due to his deep knowledge of how the world is.
Setting From it’s very start, it was never a story that could end with a ‘happily ever after’. A young baby being born, submerged in the slums of the town of Odense, like so many other before him. It is said that it matters not where you were hatched, assuming you came from a swan’s egg, but it was evident to everyone that the boy’s pedigree was clearly that of a duck. Brought into a miserable life that was shared by the shoemaker he called father, and the drunkard he called mother, Hans would forever try to hold the frigid memories of bitter childhood at bay, always failing.
His mother was a deeply scarred woman, long broken by the hardships that the lower levels of society experience. She was violent and weak-willed, being hardly a parent to her growing son. Many times he considered forgetting her completely, expunging her face from his thoughts. She she was, however, the one that first told him of fairies and goblins and witches and monsters- her presence would forever haunt him, casting the woman into his stories over and over into what would become a major motif of his works. A tribute that he performed without intention. Plot Although he trained himself as an actor, no one much cared much about his acting. Following a sound piece advice from his friend, he tried to publish the poems and tales that had made him famous among the circle of his acquaintances. Unfortunately, his attempts were answered with mixed results. Critics didn’t quite enjoy his style at first, and having finished his education Hans engaged himself into a long voyage throughout the country, from the big cities to the rural areas, watching the people and their dilemmas as he traveled. He remained in contact with both his good friend Voigt and that one's sister, for whom the Hans began revealing feelings of romance. It was unfortunate however that he did not make his move in time, for in the society of the time, a girl should not go through her twenties without being married. Upon returning from his trip, his tender youthful love had been wed to another.
The Theme His life had none. It was a normal, not especially interesting life. It could be considered something quite sad, since
It was a tragedy, however, that upon seeing his old corpse on the bed, a servant girl let her curiosity ran wild. The man had carried with him a small leather pouch for decades, never revealing it’s contents to anyone. The girl, curious about what the writer held so close to him, opened the container to find a single aged love letter, written 40 years before. It seems he had never truly gotten over a silly crush and unbeknownst to him, the woman in question had her own small shrine dedicated to him. His feelings had always been reciprocated, not that it did him any good. [/PTab][/PTabbedContent={width:430px;tab-alignment=center;}] |
