[PTab=Profile] Character Details 1 Height / Weight : 175 cm/66 kg Source : Matter of Britain, particularly the Grail Quest Home Region : Britain Alignment : Neutral Good Gender : Male Character Details 2-Ignorance from Birth Though accounts differ on the exact details, it is known that Percival was born to a noble father. However, shortly after his birth his father and brothers, noble knights, were slain in battle. His mother, fearing that her youngest son would share this fate in the future, fled into the wilderness to raise him apart from the world of warriors and nobility. Living a simple life of a commoner with his mother in the woods, Percival grew into a good young man, if a bit simple and ignorant of the ways of the wider world. Character Details 3-Misadventures One day while out hunting, Percival stumbled upon a group of mounted knights. Dazzled by what he saw, he rushed home to tell his mother, who in distress explained to him what he had seen, as well as the truth of his father. Upon learning this, Percival set out to become a knight and seek adventures, against the wishes of his mother, who set him out in rags hoping he would be mistaken for a fool or peasant and quickly return home. However, despite the fact that he had neither knowledge nor training, somehow Percival overcame obstacles and enemies through a combination of innate ability and sheer luck. Eventually after slaying the Red Knight, a figure that intimidated some even in Camelot, he achieved his dream, finding himself among the Knights of the Round Table. Character Details 4-The Grail Knight In the waning days of Camelot, many knights attempted to make the quest for a divine relic, the Holy Grail. While all that attempted were skillful knights, only three were able to see the quest through to completion, and Percival was blessed enough be counted as one of them. In the course of this quest, challenges that tested the mettle of his soul, rather than that of his sword arm, were presented to him, such as a fiendish horse that attempted to drown him once mounted, and a seductive woman that was in fact the devil in disguise. While there were points in which he wavered, he would overcome all these threats and temptations in the same simple way he always had. If there was one portion of this quest he regrets it would be the loss of his sister, Drindane, known to him only a short time and sacrificed so that another may live. It is perhaps this, combined with learning of the death of his own mother, that caused Percival to retreat into the life of a religious hermit after the quest was completed. Character Details 5-Make Believe Knight While on the surface Percival projects a sense of brash overconfidence, if one were to be able to dig deeper they would find an childlike insecurity about himself. In his own mind, Percival was never a good enough knight, unable to save the things that truly mattered to him. He wasn't able to come back to his mother to stop her death, he was not able to persuade his sister to avoid her own death, and he was unable to bring back the Grail to save his king and country. Rather than face these concerns, however, he simply smiles and moves forward, determined that if he keeps saying it, and acting like it, he will become the greatest knight the world has ever seen. However in the deepest parts of his heart, he fears that all he is, all he will ever be, is a child in a dream. |
