Being part of Chaldea was probably a dream that Ai would have never thought she'd be part of. A job that was actually offered to her deceased father and that she'd take on in his memory was one of the reasons she was still there and alive. Inexperienced as a field agent and unsure about her own potential as a magus the opportunity to help Chaldea, even if it was something so small as loading the supplies unto the warehouse was something that even someone like her would be able to do.
A good magus starts from scratch and then climbs all the way up...! Or something between those lines were the words of her teacher before she took this job.
Being assigned as the leader for this mission meant a lot for Ai, even if it was a non-dangerous mission at all or a mission that required her potential as a magus just being part of it was more than enough for her. She was never the type of girl who would let her ego get the best of her nor the type that loved to be ordering others around at will.
Now that I think about it... *She glanced at her partner* My partner for this mission sure is pretty... *She then gasped in relief* I'm glad my first partner was not someone too scary nor too intimidating... hehe
Before getting anything started, Ai was taught to be always respectful and kind to her peers regardless of the situation and what she was doing. Today was not going to be the exception but she had something to overcome first... Her shyness. Ai doesn't know what's like to have a friend, nor even a fellow partner. Her whole life was centered around her parents and her teacher so being around strangers made her feel like an abandoned kitten at her own luck but this have to come to an end soon or later. Ai's already 19 years old and she has to grow up from her shell if she wants to become an excellent magus and someone to be respected.
I just hope I don't mess it up... *she took a deep breath and raised her voice enough for her partner to listen* H-hello?... My name's Ai, Furahashi Ai... I..I Hope w-we can get along please! *She then bowed down respectfully at her partner, hoping her words wouldn't be bad enough to scare her away*

Far more composed than her anxious ally, Natasha bore her usual grace and poise when it came to her unlikely mission as she walked with her cane tapping along ahead of her – unsurprisingly, someone blind taking on a task involving manual labour wasn’t the most ideal solution; but given the pressure the organisation was currently under it was only natural that someone who didn’t have as big a part to play when it came to Chaldea’s signature research was the prime choice to handle the little things. And honestly, she was happy with such a role; even she couldn’t ignore her rather lazy position in the group. Still, with all the Master business looming over them surely she’d have more to do; for better or worse.
Since the job was going to involve Chaldea’s storage areas rather than its residential ones, Natasha had dressed for the colder climate – her white blouse was replaced with a similarly coloured rimmed sweater instead, albeit still alongside her usual skirt; just with stockings hidden underneath rather than just socks. The lady was looking relatively slim by her standards at the moment, having ended up drained of prana the day before – if she weren’t on this task she’d surely be working on a huge lunch instead. She felt a little unsafe when she was in this sort of state, honestly… just a bit of magic, and she’d probably be at a dangerous level of prana for her body. She got the feeling that her current partner probably wasn’t going to deal well with her associate passing out on top of her, so it wasn’t really the most reassuring thought.
Speaking of her partner; Natasha could already tell that the other girl was tiny compared to herself – not that such a difference was all that rare given the Russian’s Amazonian stature, but it was still of note. Her footsteps and tone made it clear she was nervous, or at least shy; surely a new member of Chaldea with such a demeanour. Her scent… well, it was hard to put a finger on, but it was certainly not unwelcome. Still, she seemed charming enough; large egos were all too common given the nature of Chaldea’s recruits; and such attitudes were one things Natasha had never really gotten used to.
Upon being welcomed by Ai’s words, Natasha gave her a sunny smile in her direction – although she was blind, it wasn’t too hard to aim her gaze (or lack there-of) towards the voice’s source. Still, it probably wouldn’t be too hard for the younger magus to notice her glassy eyed look. ”I’m Natasha Pajari; Ai. I’m sure it will be a pleasure to work with you.” replied the lady in a friendly, albeit somewhat formal manner; ”Would you be so kind as to lead the way to where the supplies have been unloaded, Miss?”

The tall blonde lady in front of her with a soft voice and a cute smile made some of Ai's worries fade away slowly. Her size was something unbelievable for her and the fact that she was blind was something really unique for Ai to see. Natasha approached her with a warm greeting and given by her clothes she came really prepared for the occasion, unlike Ai who was already too excited for her first mission that she had forgotten to bring the proper clothes for it; dressed in her usual school uniform set and protected by the cold only with a black winter jacket her legs were already suffering a bit from the cold. At this point she couldn't really tell anymore if she was shaking from excitement, nervousness or the cold itself.
If I keep quiet and get over this quickly then no one have to worry about anything... Ai's stubbornness was already kicking in but not even the weather would be something to stop her or delay her a single bit.
Y-yes, please follow m--*ehem* my steps.. or.. Is that okay with you? ...I never had to deal with a blind person before.. I don't want to make her feel bad...
The supplies were not really too farm from the entrance, so unloading the cargo and bringing it to the shelves wouldn't be too difficult. Even for a blind person with Ai as a lead they're more than sure to complete this task before they knew it... But the real problem here was Ai's shyness, even with a nice-seeming person like Natasha next to her it'd take some time for her to feel comfortable.
I hope you're okay with me as your partner.. N-Natasha, I'll give it my best! ... And without even noticing, Ai ended up shouting out her words at her Partner who she'd just met; her face flustered and bowing down again at Natasha, just hoping for the best.

Natasha just nodded as Ai awkwardly gave her instructions, giving another slight smile upon being met with her nervous remark – the usual concern. It was understandable, of course; people generally weren’t really used to handling disabled people on the whole; but it was a bit annoying. Better than constant pity, anyway. ”Don’t worry about me; I wouldn’t have lasted long if I couldn’t handle even this much without an extra pair of eyes. Just lead the way, Miss.” replied the lady, doing her best to disguise her hint of exasperation; another skill one got good at while in her sort of state. Hasty explanations were up there on the requirements as well… she was just waiting for that to happen at this point.
Her musings were quickly interrupted by Ai’s sudden little outburst of confidence, earning a bemused giggle from Natasha and another sunny smile. ”When my partner greets me with a line like that, I don’t think I could ever say no! However, I will have to assure you that I will be doing my best too, so be sure not to hold back at all.” responded the taller magus, deciding to play along with the nervous girl’s remark – it really was out of the blue, particularly given the more formal nature of most of Chaldea’s staff; but it was anything but unwelcome. Honestly, to Natasha… it was adorable! But, it probably wasn’t too professional to go spouting that sort of thing on your first meeting with someone… erk, if Ai kept it up, though; she might end up smothered.
Following Ai’s lead, Natasha’s cane would tap rhythmically along with her steps behind the younger girl. ”If you don’t mind me asking, what do you study at Chaldea? Or are you perhaps one of the conscripts for this ‘Grand Order’ business? I don’t believe I’ve seen you around before, I’m afraid… ah, well; perhaps ‘heard’ you around before is a better term, ahahah.” said Natasha, ending her stupid little joke with a laugh that was like a chime – she wasn’t a big fan of the whole wordplay surrounding ‘see’ that seemed to haunt people like her, but she felt it’d probably help Ai feel more comfortable around the issue.

After hearing Natasha's words Ai's face quickly turned red, hearing compliments from strangers are something she's not really used to and nor she has any experience on dealing with it. Defensively and without noticing Ai had grabbed Natasha's hand and quickened her pace to the supplies's cargo area. A lot of things were already going through Ai's head but the mission was still on going and she had to focus, there's no place for feelings or health when it comes to your first mission.
Even though she asked me something... guuu...I..I'll just reply to her once we arrive!
W-we're finally here! ... Ai had stopped with her partner in front of where the supplies were laying, all of them mixed together so it would be proper to load them all in order in the shelves than separately. I think it's best for us to bring every item of the same type together so we don't mess them up... right?..-
Ai's stubbornness just matches her unawareness of the environment around her. She had grabbed Natasha's hand out of the blue and ran with her all along the supply warehouse completely forgetting manners or how'd she feel after they have arrived. Ai took a deep breath and before turning around she had her answer ready... I arrived not so long ago.. I took my father's place for this job so I'm not really sure what am I supposed to do here... I.. I'm only guessing that helping around in any way is what I'm supposed to do so I'll give it my best... What about you?... She then had turned around to face her partner, expecting for an answer or rather a... response after all that run.

Unaware of Ai’s bashful response, Natasha was just surprised to end up having her hand taken – but not exactly opposed; it honestly helped her a bit to have the extra support given her blindness. However, the shorter girl’s added haste made her life a touch harder; though for now she just left her fate in the hands of her partner. Such petite hands, though… she really was a tiny girl, huh? Well, by Natasha’s standards, at least. Not that she minded… they were far, far more fun to tease, hoho. And she was so shy, too! She’d have to restrain herself, or she might break the poor thing…
As the pair halted Natasha nodded along demurely with Ai’s instructions; a bit bemused by how seriously the other magi was taking her job. It was certainly good to take pride in your work, though; and she had the right idea in any case… not that Natasha could help too much with that. She got the feeling the boxes weren’t exactly going to have braille labels. ”I’m afraid I probably can’t really identify the boxes unless they have unique shapes, so just use me as your workhorse for now – I can’t vouch too much for my strength, but my height should make it a bit easier in any case.”
Ai’s explanation for her position earned a slight frown from the older lady, though; unsure of how to approach it. Most of the members of Chaldea she knew of had been recruited based on their skills; much like she herself. It sounded like Ai was in about the same boat as she was in being a bit pointless, but surely the girl had a bit more competence when it came to magic if she was here. ”Oh, I see… hm, well; I think that’s a fine approach. I’m afraid I don’t do a lot of work here myself… I’m just sort of a, uh, utility, so to speak.” replied Natasha with a thoughtful look; deciding to keep her magical nature’s explanation for another time. ”I suppose this Master business takes priority anyway, so you probably shouldn’t worry too much.”
”So, the supplies are here, right? Let me see if there is anything I can feel….” mused the blonde as she felt around for the boxes stacked ahead of them – albeit perhaps a bit too rashly, as an unlucky Ai was caught between the leaning lady as the containers. Thankfully Natasha wasn’t too clueless and quickly realised the situation that her lack of sight had raised, but… it was a bit too tempting to try and get away with her unlikely tease. For the moment, the poor girl would just have to deal with being between a box and a soft place… ”Ah, I can’t feel any extra labels… you’ll have to be my eyes for now, dear.”

Despite the early shyness and how difficult it was for Ai to speak up freely with Natasha, things seemed to be running smoother now. As they arrived the place where the supply boxes were, all they had to do was to bring them one by one to the shelves and unload them there... But things didn't seem to come as easy as they seem for Ai. In manner of seconds while Ai, in trying to find a way to make this work easier for her disabled new friend found herself caught up tight between her body and a container. Ai's not innocent but she's not a pervert either, aware of Natasha's inability to see things she immediately thought of it as an usual mistake but something was off this situation... Natasha was not moving away, nor trying to and it almost seemed like she was standing still on purpose.
U-uhm... Natasha...? Ai tried calling out for her as she was unable to get off that situation easily. C-can you move please?... I can't really be of help with my eyes... not like this...
Ai's not completely weak, she knew she could try and get away from the situation she got caught in, but doing so would seem as if she was being rude to her new Friend and she didn't want that at all. There are many ways to get out of awkward situations and many others to do them in the best possible way. Ai then proceeded to put her hands on Natasha's waist, if she were to move away she might as well help and then it would be easier for both of them to later on identify the cargo and bring it back to the shelves.
Let's finish our mission quickly so we can go back soon, okay? ... Amazed by her tall size compared to hers, Ai was shocked but it still would not take her soft smile away from Natasha, sadly unable for her to see... nor that she could even if she was not blind due the position they were both in.

Unsurprisingly Natasha was especially smug about the reaction she’d drawn out of Ai with her stupid action – well, it could have been better, but she didn’t get this opportunity often; so best not to complain! That said, she was smart enough not to push her luck either; playing the fool was the best way to get away with this stuff. ”Oh! I’m sorry, dear; I didn’t know you were right there.” apologised the lady with a ditzy giggle, backing off gently. Admittedly, her stupid smile wasn’t the best cover for her smug satisfaction, but it might work on someone as nervous as poor Ai. ”How embarrassing…”
Still, her sunny smile just came back again with a newfound vengeance as another cunning thought come to mind – out of the oven, into the frying pan, ahahah. ”Ah, I suppose I’ll need some way to keep a handle on your position then, dear. Would you mind if I held onto you a little?” asked the lady; not waiting for a reply before resting a hand on Ai’s shoulder – frankly, Natasha seemed a bit too comfortable in the position. A very slight lean on the smaller girl probably wouldn’t help matters either.
”Alright, just pass me the boxes and we can get to work, right?” remarked Natasha happily, seeming quite a bit more chipper now than when the pair had met – she was having a bit too much fun right now. Perhaps far too much. ”I’m at your beck and call, Miss. Aye aye, Ai Ai~”

The awkward situation luckily for Ai didn't last much and they had already been in front of the containers for quite some time, there's no deadline nor they had any pressure on how long they took to finish their mission as long as they finished, that is, but before Ai could say anything about their task, she suddenly realized something important.
This is bad... she thought as a bad chill ran through her body.
Natasha's body against her calmed her coldness a little bit but the moment she moved away it all came back abruptly. All the focus she had on the task had suddenly vanished and it was all focused now on her legs which were getting colder quickly. Of course, Ai's stubbornness was still there even for these kind of situations and so she didn't want to bother her friend much with this problem.
U-um... What if we start with the toilet paper...? w-we could carry some quickly and come back again for the rest...
Unable to speak more and trying to stop her legs from shaking out of cold, Ai's expecting a positive answer from Natasha but slowly and without even noticing, she was getting closer to the girl looking for some sort of protection. Ai's priorities had switched and she now wanted to go back as soon as possible to then find herself the appropriate clothes for the mission.

”That would be a fine way to start, Ai; just tell me where to start.” chirped Natasha in reply, waiting patiently for some hint as to what she ought to be carrying – she couldn’t exactly read the labels herself! Still, upon being met with little indication as Ai deliberated her issues with the temperature, the lady just reached out for the nearest box in order to get a feel for its weight. There were always some ways to get around her sight issue… although they were rarely quite as convenient. However, before she could get much done, the shoulder she’d left her hand on trembled unexpectedly; promptly distracting her.
”Ah? Are you scared, Ai?” asked the lady, glancing to her side at the shorter girl – or at least where she had been; as the other magi was now a bit closer than before. The hand on her shoulder was met with a tremble, too – there was no way Natasha could see her ally’s shivering legs, but her honed sense of touch made it easy to feel the hint of a shudder through the rest of Ai’s body. ”Hm… you aren’t working here while you’re sick, are you? That sort of determination is admirable, but it’s not good to push yourself too hard on something so simple. And in this cold, it could get even worse.”
Giving a slight frown like a doting mother, Natasha shook her head in bemusement. ”Now now, this just won’t do. You can’t go rushing off in the midst of a job, and I can’t exactly carry you the whole time or anything like that…” mused the blonde; only to perk up once again, eyes sparkling. ”Well, I guess there’s just one choice! I’ll just have to lend you some of my clothes. It’s just like in one of those silly novels, ahahah. I suppose I can’t offer you my stockings since they’re surely far too big for you; but how about my sweater?”
Without waiting for a word in return, Natasha slipped off her rimmed-sweater; thankfully having her usual blouse on underneath… it was certainly far more chilly without her sweater on top, but she’d live – the lady daintily handed the top over to her partner. She’d just have to give herself a finer treat later… though this was an interesting development too. Wasn’t this something of note in most of those books? It’d probably be quite something to see Ai with her sweater wrapped around her waist, but… it seemed that Natasha would have to miss out as per usual. Damn, the one time she should have brought that useless Mystic Code…
