NAME: thaddeus adeodatus
[PTabbedContent][PTab=APPEARANCE]
Thaddeus' appearance is, at the same time, plain and remarkable. His physical aspect is common - while his features can be considered fair and attractive, his black irises and dark brown hair mean he is by no means remarkable to the eyes. Kept unkempt and contrasting against his white skin slightly touched by the sun give away his years of wandering, giving off a certain air of the exotic to his aura despite rather generic origins. Body lean yet strong from said time travelling the world and his own training, first impressions are oft consistent with his actual self, or at least the wanderlust-filled facade of it.
His outfit varies, much like any person's, on the occasion. Casually, Thaddeus favors modest yet comfortable clothes, loose and of thin fabric if in warm or humid weather or a sweater in days of cold. In either case, his hair is rarely down in such occasions, the man finding he's grown used to it outgrown yet recognizing leaving it . Of course, any such choice of attire is accompanied by a small cross around his neck.
Most of Chaldea, however, is not an environment Thaddeus considers himself comfortable enough to be casual in. As he's most often seen, formally, he is either in a traditional Church robes, tight to the body and dark blue in color, a cross over his chest, or alternatively, his travel outfit, also used in official assignments.
Consisting of beige-white robes that cover his body top to bottom, a wrap of the same color around his neck and a brown one serving as a belt, it is adorned with other two red straps across the chest and one from the front of his waist to his feet. It is an amalgamation of ceremonial clothing from both Christian, Buddhist and other diverse religions he's visited throughout the years as he struggled to find his faith. It emits at the same time an air of harmony and modesty, the two qualities Thaddeus has come to conclude a man of faith really needs.
His Mystic Code turned Formal Wear is the only break from said image, a large cross-shaped staff that emits a white sheen off its golden surface. Even still, somehow, its lack of adornment and the lack of polish make such an otherwise gaudy item look much more humble in nature than it should, nearly supernaturally so. It's usually carried on his back.
His Magic Crest is located on his back - it glows a yellowish gold which spreads to areas affected by some of his Thaumathurgy, being the colour of his mana.[/PTab={width: 350px; height:500px; overflow:auto; font-size:11px;font-family:helvetica neue;color:#545454;text-align:justify;padding:5px;line-height:10px;border-right:15px solid #003D99;tab-transform:rotate(270deg);tab-border:0px;tab-alignment:right;background-color:#fdfdfd;tab-transform-origin:97% 60%;tab-font-size:8px;tab-background-color:#003D99;}]
[PTab=PERSONALITY]
The most efficient way for both reader and writer to describe the inner workings of Thaddeus' mind is to understand the deeply personal code of faith he's developed over the years. Thus, it shall be transcribed here, in first person, as a sort of introspection of sorts upon his own findings.
"I have come to understand, upon observing this world's many faiths, that the word of God is not something so easily contained to the pages of a book. Yet, then, how to justify the warmth inside me when I lay eyes upon the scripture, the glow of guidance in my heart? Well - because it is guidance, in the form of His holy wisdom. Many of my brothers define this world as a trial, or mayhaps even punishment - but alas, upon seeing the beauty nature itself has to offer, I tend to disagree. This world is a gift from Him, for we who are good shall be invited onto His realm, subjugated to His rule - and it will be joyful - however, this Earth is a chance for us, His beloved children, to build our own realm, from our own image.
And that is where my earlier point comes clear, and so do the purpose of His scripture - it is a guide, to lead His flock into greatness in life, so that they may reach His realm without mortal regrets. It is simply the most efficient way, justifying even the changes of the Old and New Testament, for they were written for different times - who knows what words He would direct to us now, or what will they be once He elects to do so? For now, I believe that the current scripture is still His path, for otherwise He'd have directed us anew - yet it is undeniable, upon my travels, many men and women of other faith are truly good, inside and outside. I believe such people, unknowingly, worship much the same God as I - the Lord Almighty who loves us, nurtures our souls and protects us in His path. They simply do so in their own way - and while it saddens me they follow a God under a wrong name and a wrong path, it is undeniable that unlike the Church preaches, the holy path of Our Lord is not narrow, but as wide as his love for humanity. Those good not under the Faith are simply not ahead of the flock, yet shall find His Light all the same.
Many ask - much to my revolt - what is good, and argue that good and evil are oft subjective. Such people are not to be trusted. Any man or woman can identify good when it is seen, and evil when it is seen, and any doubt within their minds are of those situations one could call gray, but never unclear. It is simple a question of if the good outweighs the bad, a complication natural to us mortals - in my personal conclusion, I've come to see that committing evil for the sake of good more often than not results in regret and a cycle of retribution that only brings more misery. Thus, while sometimes unavoidable, I'd tend to prefer riskier ways around it than the often narrow path of ends justifying the means.
On the same coin, it is of no use letting one's heart darken upon one's own mistakes. Idle hands are the devil's workshop, and while I have raised my doubts before at how literal the scripture truly is, such statement does find its roots in one of the most important teachings inside it. If one is busy allowing regret to eat away at one's heart, it is time not being used to uphold good, instead. Thus, it is only causing more evil.
As I have written before, I believe in 'Smite Evil When It Is Seen", a principle learned upon my travels on the Eastern Lands. If one should allow its seed to spread, it will fester and corrupt all in its way, and thus it shouldn't be allowed to move once laid eyes upon by one of His flock. On the other hand, all in this world belong to His beloved children, and thus chaining those who would do evil and their practices and using them for good is just as good an alternative, if they can be controlled safely. This is based on much the same principle above. Making use of the wicked for His purposes is simply a better option than immediate eradication.
I must comment on enjoyment - for while I believe the human mind should not be devoid of pleasure, one must be careful not to allow it to overtake him. It is undeniable the scripture makes constant mention of the dangers of overindulgence, and while many may consider my own rationing of time cruel to my own entertainment, I believe it fair. Man should only use the time his body needs to recover for such activities, and struggle to find joy during his duties otherwise - be they when upholding His will or when finding oneself, an activity that while may seem selfish, is just as important to you as others around you. For example, even in my own travels where I helped many and discovered the path that drives me to write these words, I derived great pleasure from the peaceful views and the cups of tea shared amid avid talks of belief and religion. My cup runneth over. One must not allow joy to overtake them, for the selfish shall not inherit the Kingdom of God."
Further details are mostly vapid when compared to the personal insight into his self above. He has some latent concern over the fact he'll have to produce a heir someday, and thus marry, a deeply personal goal that somewhat conflicts with his personal view of himself as an extension of His will. Secretly, he enjoys slice-of-life and magical girl mangas, but they are only read during recovery times from battles and the like.[/PTab={width: 350px;height:500px; overflow:auto; font-size:11px;font-family:helvetica neue;color:#545454;text-align:justify;padding:5px;background-color:#fdfdfd;line-height:10px;border-right:15px solid #003D99;tab-transform:rotate(270deg);tab-border:0px;tab-transform-origin:97% 50%;tab-font-size:8px;tab-background-color:#003D99;}]
[PTab=HISTORY]
The Magus family Adeodatus claims descent from Saint Augustine, earning its surname from his son. While that's left up to dispute, their traceable magic descent spans back some four hundred years or so, making them middle-of-the-way in terms of age when compared to other houses. Their specialty is the creation of bounded fields with often eccentric properties, based on the family's concept of "Heaven on Earth", the creation of a sanctuary for the faithful, as they say. Their alleged descent from a saint plus the key aspect of trying to mingle faith with Thaumaturgy has earned them both allies and enemies inside the Holy Church and the Assoaciation alike, although they've kept a better relationship with the first than most other Houses.
His father was an exception to the norm, and had easily grown distasteful to the heavily religious upbringing that came with being the Adeodatus family heir, a fact sometimes rumoured to have been caused by the early death of his wife, Thaddeus' mother, at a mere nineteen years. An unrepentant cynic, he raised his son much the same way as he continued the family's secret project, the dabbling onto the creation of a Reality Marble. Using their knowledge of bounded field manipulation, the Adeodatus had sought for three generations so far to create a Marble, theorizing that, following the World Egg theory, if the World could be, perspective-wise, reduced to an egg while the Self expanded, it should be possible to alter the Self's distance to other objects just as easily - and thus, one could "move" a Marble to outside of the boundaries of the World and onto the Root itself.
While the research was obviously taboo, the family's inherent talents in Bounded Fields made disguising their pursuits easy. Taught from an early age about the basics of magic, Thaddeus grew faithless, ignoring the attempts of the family employees, typically fanatics in and out themselves, to convert him to the Faith. A good child otherwise, they were satisfied in that quality alone eventually and thus their attempts grew sparse. Slowly, the normal life of a Magus shaped in front of Thaddeus' path, being educated at home by the staff and his father.
One day, however, the then current head of the Adeodatus family started to grow strange. He'd always been kind despite an apparent distaste towards Christianity, but soon grew fond of excesses and alternated between uncharacteristic, hedonistic bursts of joy and unbridled ire over the slightest bother. It was like he'd grown into a different person, yet Thaddeus couldn't deny the research had advanced tremendously during that time; at one demonstration, his father managed to construct a small, flickering world inside a bounded field, one that seemed to create and dissolve as his Self tried to contain the uncaring world outside.
Soon one of the household's many faithful, a maid, revealed to have been sent by the Church to keep a close eye on his research due to worries over the religious status of the current head, and proposed due to small disturbances around the house that his father was afflicted by demonic possession. The proceedings that followed were somewhat unpleasant, as the not yet matured Demon struggled with his father's own will to hold back the Exorcists. Thankfully, due to their family history, the Church bothered to send actual Exorcists to banish the demon while saving his father's soul, something they achieved.
This was of great effect on the then twelve year old Thaddeus. He remembered his father's screams, the glow and power the elderly Exorcist seemed to propagate, and the eerie beauty of the woman that had spied on them as she was clad in the Faith's robes. Years later, he'd fully understand when someone told him Exorcists rarely manage to perform successful exorcisms more than once, after having seen the suffering of all who stood at that room.
The mind of his father cleared, his immediate response was to ask forgiveness of the Church, submitting to a second baptism and the careful examination of all of his research. Surprisingly, large swaths of the demon-provided knowledge over the Reality Marble so natural to them were allowed to be kept under the conditions of a renewed pact between the family and the Holy Church, something his cleansed progenitor accepted readily. Somehow, even now, he seemed different. Much more lively.
From there on, Thaddeus' father converted into Christianity and his son followed suit. Spending long nights talking to the now openly Church-aligned maid, Thaddeus both developed the first traces of faith and the first signs of romantic attraction towards the young woman. As he debated over the nature of faith and the temptations of man, he came to the conclusion that it was God's will that saved father, proving that divine intervention does come when man is faced by things he cannot beat alone. His father, when proposed the idea, largely agreed.
Even still, the young Thaddeus found himself disagreeing a great deal with the priest, who claimed only those under the banner of the cross could be truly saved - for his father was a good man before and after conversion, and while his lack of faith made have made him weak to the temptations of the mind, he thought he deserved salvation just as much before the changes had begun. Bringing up this point with the aforementioned maid, she suggested a journey to be the only way to remedy his doubts as she'd done the same years before. At this time, Thaddeus studied under Clock Tower, and had to continue to do so to inherit the family's Crest - something that, surprisingly, happened not much after.
His father himself had taken to the idea of a spiritual journey, and donated the Crest to his son before departing on his own travels to find Faith again. Appointed as the new family head, it took Thaddeus but a year to graduate from Clock Tower, choosing to set off to accompany his father right away. During this journey, they'd bond more in three years than in Thaddeus' whole lifetime, as they visited different countries and religions, seeking to commit small acts of good throughout. In one small, fond occasion in Thaddeus' memory, his father converted a poor Chinese boy into Christianity before donating a small amount of money to cover education fees for a few years more. At that moment, his father remarked that truly, it was better to teach a man how to fish.
His father perished in some far-off country, and upon request Thaddeus buried him on the spot with a simple, cross-shaped grave. It saddened him his grave was so far off from where anyone could see it, and he feared his father's soul would grow lonely - thus, he had his mother's remains moved there at a later date, to keep him company in death.
At this point, Thaddeus' journey had become largely acts of kindness and sometimes even vigilante justice peppered with a few visits to monasteries of different religions, causing his own magic research to become largely combat-oriented. This was intended, as he planned to join the Church's own Burial Agency - with the objective of one day too helping people against the evils man cannot repel alone, such as demons and vampires, thinking it his natural obligation after being born with such talents. At one point, the much treasured maid was recalled by the church without warning. He misses her greatly, having grown accustomed to her as a sort of motherly figure.
After a deeply personal, enlightening experience atop a Tibetan Buddhist Monastery, Thaddeus returned home and began to accept contracts from the Holy Church, specifically those geared towards the most wicked of heretics - while his deeply personal doctrine, described in "Personality", conflicted too much with the often arbitrary picks of targets by the Church, going freelance allowed him to choose which were worthy of his attention on his own, with his undeniable loyalty and lack of want for compensation usually compensating for any attrition hiring an outsider might cause. Similarly, he also did so for the Association, on occasion.
When he was contacted by Chaldea, he picked up the role on the spot, for reasons deemed too obvious to state but also out of a secret interest by the personalities he could meet. Might someone as lowly as him meet a Saint? Might he find a Sorcerer strong enough to fulfill his family's secret desire? Might he find out why there are those sane yet determined to commit evil?
Might he meet the Son of God in his own time?[/PTab={width: 350px;height:500px;overflow:auto; font-size:11px;font-family:helvetica neue;color:#545454;text-align:justify;padding:5px;background-color:#fdfdfd;line-height:10px;border-right:15px solid #003D99;tab-transform:rotate(270deg);tab-border:0px; tab-transform-origin:97% 50%;tab-font-size:8px;tab-background-color:#003D99;}]
[PTab=MAGECRAFT]
Thaddeus is an Average One, a magus with affinity in all five elements. His Origin lies in Resonance (共振, Kyōshin) and Reverberation (残響, Zankyō), manifested not through the usual meaning of sound but rather, the very concept of energy or an effect being relayed from a point of origin and being capable of "reflecting" off chosen surfaces, as the names of his Origin describe. This is extremely useful for the head of a family specializing in Bounded Fields, since the very principle of a property inside a field is that the origin point of the shield emanates the prana needed to both maintain it and whatever effects are necessary inside. By adding reflection of the prana waves to this mix, it could potentially result in much stronger fields with a much lower cost of magical energy.
Despite this benefit, Thaddeus hasn't made great advancements to his family's research in Bounded Fields, partially because of very little desire to achieve the family mission - the Perspective Placement Reality Marble - and partially because his mission, so to say, required him to learn and develop more combat-oriented techniques instead. While still not a monster capable of standing with the Church's Burial Agency, it has caused Thaddeus to develop into a competent frontline magus capable of taking on Sealing Designations if need be.
Aside from magic, he counts with an accumulated knowledge of Chinese martial arts and a proficiency with the use of Black Keys in combat, although due to his alliance with the Church being somewhat flimsy, he carries a limited amount and isn't nearly as dexterous with them as someone like Kirei or Ciel. Usually, his max is two per hand, although more often than not he'll only carry two on him at any time.

His list of spells:
Name:Propagation
Spell Rank:E-C
Effects:Emanates Ether through matter and violently reverberates it to affect the targeted area.
Despite the original physical meaning of his Origin, his power doesn't really lie in particle vibration but rather, by disturbing the natural composition of things with an Ether flow similar to the functionality of the Mystic Eyes of Death - but obviously, nowhere as powerful and direct.
Through touching any surface - this could be relayed through air, but incredibly inefficiently - Thaddeus can disturb a target surface, forcing the ether to "echo" in that area to a desired effect. This can range from a prana burst released from the location, slight manipulation of a movable object, the relaying of another spell's effect or more commonly, the destruction of the contained point of the surface, often with a violent release of force. One can tell the target area because his Circuits will seem to "expand" to his arms and to the surface, tracing a straight line that is representative of the "chamber" the Ether is being poured and reverberated inside.
This spell, technically, has no limit to its range or power, but the more distant and the more powerful the desired effect is, more prana will be spent from Thaddeus' body. A simple light touch of his finger to make a small hole in a wall is nothing, but destroying a tree twenty meters away will take the usual mana cost of a C rank spell. Theoretically, blowing up a target off in the horizon is possible, but not only would the cost be astronomical, he'd have to wind up the charge until the prana arrived there in full quantity for a long, long time.
This "windup" time is based on the distance and power desired, and normally requires him to stay in contact with the surface to charge - but this can be bypassed by spending the windup time in an eerie dance in which one hand stays in front of his body stretched in prayer as the other comes to touch it, resonating prana to the then still hand at which point their positions switch, this silent ritual of half-prayers that slowly creates a prana flow in his arms. This act causes them to glow gold if uncovered, making their function as a charging move obvious.
Contact with the surface only has to be maintained for as long as it takes for the charge to be enough to reach the desired target with the desired amount of force. The travel time, which can vary due to distance, can occur after his hands have been removed from the affected surface.
This can also be used to vibrate the inside of surfaces on contact with a much lower prana cost, due to using the effect on an area he has direct contact with is much easier - this is what allows Thaddeus to fight in melee, ignoring the difference between his and his opponent's strength. Even should his foe be massively stronger than him, a simple touch to a muscle with no force could be used to relay a powerful vibration, causing the muscle to soften and grow temporarily weaker and uncoordinated. If allowed to charge, it can be even used to rupture flesh and bone. Allowing him to touch one's head might be fatal in a fight, as even a small jolt to the skull will lead to serious disorientation, dizziness and sickness. Furthermore, due to its nature, armor and outer skin hardness will only affect the mana cost of the spell since it's a bit of extra distance to travel, allowing him to fight toe-to-toe with otherwise shielded or protected opponents.
Though it can be used like that, as said, the effect of the spell is not really molecular vibration, being more akin to disturbing the inner flow of the object, causing it to be inefficient as a defense mechanism - he will still take the full brunt of the hit most likely. Thus, defense is largely left to the martial art techniques learned in his travels and sometimes using his naturally resilient Mystic Code/Formal Wear to deflect attacks, or one of his other spells.
It can be - and often is - used as a locomotion aid too, since his prana can be focused in one cental point and expelled with extreme force to bounce off surfaces and the like. Much like why his technique to break flesh and bone can ignore and bypass outer constitution and armor due to the nature of the attack, the actual strength of the surface matters little and the mana cost simply goes up in relation to how sparse the density of the surface is. Air is the most difficult and useless for directing attacks, causing the need for direct links of liquid and solid surfaces for offense, but Thaddeus can nevertheless use small focal points in air to "hop" in it, providing an impromptu flying technique.
It also has a few practical uses, like being used as a sonar-like recon technique to detect mana signatures and physical disturbances in the area.

Name:Sanctuary - Heaven on Earth
Spell Rank:E or C
Incantation:O Saints that gave me life,
I ask of thou rest from His labour,
For when my body is whole,
And basked in your glory,
My Light shines through His realm!
I ask of thou rest from His labour,
For when my body is whole,
And basked in your glory,
My Light shines through His realm!
Effects:Upon planting his Mystic Code on the ground or simply placing the lower surface along its length, this spell causes a small field two meters tall and one meter wide to appear around Thaddeus, golden in color and with capacity for about three r four people if really cramped.
It can serve as a shield against both physical and magical attacks, efficiency varying on the strength of the offense. It can stay up with a defense similar to human bone for a long, long time, with that of a brick wall for a minute, to that of a stone wall for thirty seconds or so and can even be augmented to a durability similar to reinforced titanium shield for a good ten seconds. Of course, this is when considering continuous use - it can be used in short, split-second intervals for quick, powerful blocking power, allowing Thaddeus to both withstand hits from opponents massively stronger than him and some special attacks if need be.
It also has a healing function dependent on the number of wounded targets inside, but it is nearly negligible if used as just described and quick uses will barely heal small scratches and bruises. It will, however, have an effect if a true parade of instantaneous uses is seen in a short period of time. If allowed to go uninterrupted with one sole wounded inside it can easily heal serious or even life-threatening injuries.
It requires the cross to stay in place to continue to work. The instantaneous version is too fast for the eye and seems to simply cause a hit to bounce off him, classifying it as an E rank and thus needing no incantation.

Name:Blessing
Spell Rank:D
Incantation:Mend Flesh
Effects:Basic healing spell, much faster in efficiency when compared to the above. His hand hovers over the affected are and the wound steadily closes as his palm grows a dull gold glow. Can heal physical wounds, intoxication and some magic effects, but usually of no effect against strong curses and sickness.
This spell is currently not stored within his Formal Wear, and thus is unavailable for use in missions.
Name:Wind Blowing Down Mount Daisetsu (大雪山おろし, Daisetsuzan Oroshi)
Spell Rank:D-C
Effects:Wind manipulation learned on his travels in Asia. Can vary from a careful blow to a violent onslaught, but the wind will always seem to be incredibly chilly due to the technique used. The air will grow a dull golden glow when used, but it is almost invisible to the naked eye.
This spell is currently not stored within his Formal Wear, and thus is unavailable for use in missions.
Name:Reinforcement
Spell Rank:E
Effects:Basic Reinforcement. Usually useless due to the nature of Propagation and its many uses to compensate strength differences and the hardy nature of his Mystic Code, it still finds its uses from time to time.
This spell is currently not stored within his Formal Wear, and thus is unavailable for use in missions.
Name:Flash Burst
Spell Rank:E
Effects:A small amount of prana is violently released or contained in a ball and thrown, bringing forth a powerful light that blinds any looking upon it yet having no effect on Thaddeus himself. Not often used due to Propagation being able to achieve a rather similar effect.
This spell is currently not stored within his Formal Wear, and thus is unavailable for use in missions.
Name:Holy Seal - Delayed Propagation
Spell Rank:E-C
Effects:While Propagation can have a slightly delayed effect due to the time it takes for the mana to travel to the target, the effects will still be unleashed near instantly. With Holy Seal, Thaddeus can place a small magic symbol on any surface, organic or otherwise, and trace the path and function it has to perform, essentially creating a Propagation effect that can be set on demand.
Usually used to surprise enemies with blades or other objects suddenly flying at them or for the floor to suddenly collapse, circumventing the visual weakness of Propagation, usually unable to surprise opponents with its effect.

Name:Dowsing
Spell Rank:D
Incantation:Seek, Guide
Effects:Using a small object, usually the cross around hi neck, Thaddeus can perform an area-of-effect search for any object he knows the shape or magical signature of, including organic creatures. The object will then point to the right direction, or if allowed, float to it. The range is about one kilometer. It cannot detect Servants with the Presence Concealment Skill Rank D and up.
This spell is currently not stored within his Formal Wear, and thus is unavailable for use in missions.
Name:One-on-One All-Night Sunday Rumble
Spell Rank:C
Incantation:Come, come
It is today
We cross words
And then fists
In a duel of Faith!
It is today
We cross words
And then fists
In a duel of Faith!
Effects:A spell developed with a mexican Catholic monk. A small bounded field, three meters tall and two meters wide, is created around Thaddeus and a whoever else is inside. It provides the double the damage protection from the outside as Sanctuary (see above, multiply all values), but more notably, can't be broken from inside. This means that whatever foes Thaddeus brings inside stay inside until one of the parties is unable to continue fighting - a way to force melee combat against otherwise ranged opponents.
It provides no healing effect.

Name:Territory Creation
Spell Rank:A
Incantation:That which He has given me
My Lord, my Father
This is where I make my home
A Haven for Heaven
And a sight for sore eyes
My Lord, my Father
This is where I make my home
A Haven for Heaven
And a sight for sore eyes
Effects:A bounded field specialist is bound to, well, create large fields. Just like any other competent magus, with enough time to draw sigils and the like, Thaddeus can claim territory and establish the properties of both All-Night Rumble and Sanctuary inside, coupled with threat detection and the ability for the field to look unchanged from the outside, despite any commotion that may happen inside.
This may take hours to accomplish however, his record being about two to set it up, and the bonuses from both spells cannot be maintained for long in such a large area, forcing him to disable them and making said features be more like instantaneous castings of the spells when inside than anything else, minus the shield.
Serves as a good reminder not to face a Bounded Field specialist inside his own territory.

Name:Heaven and Hell - Demonic Gift to the Faithful
Spell Rank:EX
Incantation:Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death,
I will fear no evil,
For you are with me;
Your rod and your staff,
They comfort me,
You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies;
You anoint my head with oil;
My cup overflows.
I will fear no evil,
For you are with me;
Your rod and your staff,
They comfort me,
You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies;
You anoint my head with oil;
My cup overflows.
Effects:Upon stating Psalm 23:4 and 23:5, Thaddeus uses a good chunk of his mana reserves to bring forth the still incomplete miracle of the Adeodatus household, crafted with the help of the leftover demonic knowledge - and large bounded field forms around him, entrapping any in the area, and while the World is not truly being overridden by his Self, it would be more accurate to say that his body emanates a small field that links to an area outside the world, where his Self can to some degree manifest amidst a sea of unknown, leftover energy.
Inside, the landscape remains the same as the real world, but fighting becomes impossible for all, including Thaddeus. Upon manifestations of small cups of tea, other drinks or even food and the materialization of a small table and seats in whatever capacity the current area allows, all affected must then talk about whatever subject Thaddeus desires. While no sort of truth serum is in effect, those affected will have great difficulty remaining quiet or avoiding the subject.
This is a manifestation of Thaddeus' fondest memories of his travels, and can be said to be born out of his desire to understand humans. It can't be broken from either the inside or outside, and lasts up to ten minutes at full mana output.
However, this is a spell in development, and theoretical in nature. While he's observed and analyzed the would-be effects and understands with a certain vagueness what would happen if perfectly activated, Thaddeus has no way to currently cement the link to this outside space, since the World inevitably drags him back in.
