[PTab=Profile] Character Details 1 Height / Weight: 165 cm / 56 kg Source: Historical Home Region: Mongolia Alignment: Lawful Neutral Gender: Male Temujin The birth name of the man that would become Genghis Khan, the warlord that sought to unify the world to cease all wars. Genghis does not match his reputation as a conqueror responsible for much destruction. In fact Temujin is a down to earth, charitable and even amiable man with an intellectual but idealist disposition. However, that is all contrasted by a heartless pragmatism and ruthless self-righteousness. Temujin was born a man of loving nature but tempered and reasoned cruelty. A man who would willingly use any and all means for his dream. He is someone that will destroy something irreplaceable knowing that eventually humanity has the potential to surpass it. A man despite causing great grief did not become cold-heart but regardless out of love did what he felt was right. The Unifying King Temujin before becoming Genghis Khan was the son of a petty warlord. However, he was born fated to do great things. At an early childhood his clan was ravaged and he was enslaved, though he escaped and found the love of his life Borte. Temujin lived as an outlaw and runaway slave, though he lived for revenge and for the sake of his love he found a kindred soul that would become his blood brother. Together they formed a mighty clan and took revenge. But Temujin was betrayed by his closest friend and brother out of jealousy and once more he lived as an exile. During his hermitage Temujin meditated on his life and what it meant, then found that he could not help but love the world, his people. He in his darkest days always found good people, and even his enemies were people who had those they loved as well he could not find fault with greed and the corruption of power. Yet he also realized that those feelings made everyone suffer. Temujin resolved to unify all the clans of the steppes to stop the mindless warring state they lived in. He rose once more as a warlord and many rallied under his desire to end the petty feuds and his campaign culminated against his blood brother Jamukha. Though Temujin hoped to reconcile with his brother, he learned that reconciliation would mean more conflicts would rise, Mongolia would never be whole. He took his brother’s last words to heart and would mark much of Temujin’s actions from then on. “Temujin, now you are Khan and I’m at your feet. Are you happy?” “No, but I forgive you brother” “No, no it is too late. I will always be a rock in your boot.” “Then what would have you done had I been at your feet.” “I’d kill you brother, the world is far too small for the two of us.” Temujin became Genghis Khan, the King among Kings in the steppes and he realized that his dream did not stop with unifying Mongolia. He came to learn of other nations, other cultures and more than wealth and knowledge they had, he also came to realize that they suffered the same fundamental problems his people suffered. They still acknowledge that it was fine if man warred against man that lives could be traded and bartered, where children could never have parental love and brother would fight brother over petty grievances. Genghis decided that he did not want to live in such a world and that people should not accept that life. So his unifying campaign extended beyond the steppes of Mongolia. The Horde Genghis Khan after forming his kingdom set about reforming and consolidating his ideal. He created the Yassa as a code in hopes that its lessons would inspire a more loving life among his subjects, he did this by gathering men of faith of various religions. Genghis also gathered under his wing four great generals he named “Dogs of War”, men who have come to share his ideal and pragmatism, men who would lead his armies. Together they waged great campaigns that spawned three continents. Coming into contact with other cultures, with other people who made the Khan also love for humanity to grow. But inevitably none of the foreign cultures had an answer to stop the self-destructive tendencies of humanity that Genghis wanted to abolish. From then on Genghis took the approach that would mark him as one of the men who caused the most harm to humanity. He set out to teach a painful lesson, he would use what he despised the most as means for peace. Though his plan wasn’t something as simple as waging a war to stop all wars. At an amazing rate and with genius tactical insight Genghis began to expand the borders of his empire. First he created the imagine destroyer, he used the most foul strategies to make himself truly feared, he caused senseless deaths and destruction. Then after his image was set he always offered two options to his enemies, surrender or death. Those that surrendered he embraced like brothers, he accepted all cultures and religions. He showed himself as a selfless and humble king, he encouraged the betterment of his peers and made away with main causes of strife. He rewarded merit rather than blood, he promoted understanding and dialogue, sought ways to support the less fortunate and encouraged living in peace without decadence. To those that didn’t, Genghis showed sympathy but was utterly merciless. No matter how much he loved them for standing up for their values, for reacting how any human would to danger he loved them. Still Genghis made them examples, he brutally slaughtered and destroyed their legacies, no matter how irreplaceable they were a symbol of dividing mankind, so he destroyed his opposition. Still Genghis made sure that he would not become cold to death and war, and to his closest aids he showed his mourning as well as never justified himself. “This is the only way, I will teach humanity a lesson so that it will not forget what the pains of war truly mean.” In the end however, the world was too vast to be conquered in a single life span. Though he conquered large portions of Asia, Africa and Europe much of the world was far from his grasp. He made an empire where the sun never set, yet in the end he died from an arrow wound at an advance age. He regretted that his dream would not come true but still showed his full love to his descendants and hoped they would have long lives, even if they would never follow his dream.
