[PTab=Profile] Character Details 1 Height / Weight : 1,72m / 56kg Source : Völsunga saga, Der Ring der Nibelungen, Nibelungenlied, Fate/Prototype: Fragments of Blue and Silver. Home Region : Scandinavia, Germany. Alignment : Lawful Good Gender : Female Brynhild is the manifestation of the Valkyrie that once wed and was betrayed by the hero Sigurd. Once a Divine Spirit in life, she retained her supernatural presence and beauty even when robbed of her immortality. It was said that gazing upon her alone, could rob lesser men of their coherent reasoning as Gunnar once did when struck by her presence. Not meant to be mortal the mere act of smiling is something that could melt the resistance of sense in many. She appears clad in armour, covered in runic protections, which is of unearthly design. No man could have forged her filigrane bands of metal, or the ornamentations. It is a construct of gods, designed for one of their own and its design is nothing a human eye would ever lay eyes on, if not confronted with the divine. Character Details 2 - The Valkyrie A woman born as an executioner, Brynhild possessed an inborn urge to eliminate human individuals. It is less so a wish to kill them, than merely an urging to fulfill one's duty in life. Her purpose in particular, as a Valkyrie, a minor war goddess, was to decide conflicts between kings and other leaders, by slaying one of the two in combat, while guiding the other to victory. In other words, Brynhild was created to be a warrior, a tool meant to kill leaders. She was a natural born Regicide. It was her nature that caused her development and her downfall, as the life of a human, while not meaningless to her, was often just a number in an equation she had to meet. Yet aware of this mere numerical value, she began to doubt not only her actions, but especially the decisions of the one who created her. Odin's will only had value for her as long as she did not doubt following these urges. So, at some point she decided to cross this line, acting against his will in slaying the elder of two clashing kings. This eventually lead to her loss of immortality and her status as a minor goddess, yet it changed nothing about her systematic, confrontation driven nature. Character Details 3 - Pride of a Weapon As a result of her former status, Brynhild found herself deeply infatuated with the moral values and bonds of humans, yet upon seeing their decisions, tied them into her own rules and values. In other words, Brynhild possessed and still possesses and immense pride, especially in her own skills. It causes her to value prowess and honour beyond all else, forcing her to think in rather absolute directions when faced with situations that were to damage the latter. Her oaths are words that bind her, closer to a mental suggestions than a given word and any breaking of the conditions, any betrayal would not only harm her, it would downright shatter her mind, causing emotions beyond compare to flood her very being, driving her actions into extremes even she herself would think herself unable to follow through with. It was pride that lead her to test her suitors in combat, it was pride that had her tie up the missfit that desired her, for it was beneath her acceptance. But... it was betrayal that caused her to kill her beloved, his child and finally herself, when every oath she took, every hope she harboured and even the pain she meant to bear, were torn apart and jabbed into her chest. Her pride is a strong weapon, yet ultimately her loyalty and honour, could only lead her to complete self-destruction. Character Details 4 - Augur of Sorrow Her past and the time she could spend contemplating her own actions and those of her lover Sigurd, broke Brynhild in a way she herself finds difficult to fathom. She regrets every action she had taken against him, regrets it to the bottom of her heart. There is little but sorrow when she thinks back on the fact that she, in fact, killed the person most precious to her. She is a being that dwells in the night, unable to move out of the dark on her own, yet she craves a light without thinking to be deserving of one. She loathes her very existance, not only for killing Sigurd and his child, but for feeling, even so, that it may have been the right decision, the just decision. He had broken his oaths to her, all of them and had even forced her to break her own, yet all she knows is... that she hated him, because she loved him. Yet... her certainty about both of these past facts, crumbled over time and now her own insecurity, her self-loathing and repressed rage, still dwell within her. She wishes for love, yet thinks herself only deserving of scorn and punishment. She hopes for salvation and forgiveness, yet fears that she will be denied both... and she wants to forgive him, for all his betrayals, all the torment he caused her, yet is afraid... that she may just repeat what her heart once thought to be inevitable. And so she lingers in pain, driven to prevent herself and others from committing the same crimes, from making the same mistakes once again. She knows pride, yet shows it timidly, she knows rage, yet finds the idea of losing control of her senses once more, to be abhorrent. She cares for others, because she wishes to soothe their pain, ultimately driven by the pained hope, that it may be possible for herself as well. Even so... the fear remains and it will linger... it will linger until she finally finds a way to make amends with the her beloved traitor. Character Details 5 - Brynhild Sigrdrífa Carrying a sorrowful expression, Brynhild will always force herself to smile if it means to bring comfort to another, even so her amethyst eyes will never be able to express true joy again, even were she to feel it again. She forgot how to express happiness, yet can avail others a show of melancholic resignation and utter thankfulness. Brynhild will not stand for insults, nor let others be insulted, least she deems them dishonourable and harmful, and she will defend her honour against anyone. Even while she despises herself, her oaths and honour remain the foundations for her sense of self, denying her this, would be the same as thrusting a sword into her chest. If she ever became aware of one thing in her entire mortal life, it is that even the strongest feelings, never prevented her from killing. Instead they lead her to follow the pursuit of the demise of offenders systematically, with the cold hatred of a machine, seeking to repair its own flaws... and if it meant destroying the thing most precious to them, it would none the less slay them within a heartbeat. Alternate Classes: Rider, Caster, Berserker Additional Notes: In the Rider class, she functions as an active member of the Wild Hunt, riding a spectral horse. As a Caster, she too can summon the dogs of the Wild Hunt, yet is rid of Brynhild Romantia. It is in the Berserker class that she is the most terrifying individual, as she would see absolutely every person, as her former husband Sigurd, who betrayed her. In essence, she would be capable of using her Noble Phantasm on anyone, constantly driven into madness through the delusions created by Mad Enhancement. |
