Bear-Traps: Baba Yaga can create bear-trap like jaws in any surface she desires upon touch. They are hidden and remain inert until caster sets them to trigger, reacting to proximity or contact. These jaws are not capable of consuming but come with a mouth-like cavity within them, being able to store objects. These traps can be set on Baba's body as well. Animating breath: Anything touched by her breath receives a form autonomous motion. This essentially allows her to impart very limited sentience onto objects, and manipulate them according to her orders. A Witch by any Other Name Baba Yaga is the archetype of most witches in fairy tales, the secluded elderly lady that will enslave and devour anyone foolish enough to enter her domain. Even as a child she obssessed with the workings of organic beings. Initially endearing to the huntsmen of her village, it soon became the cause of her banishment when she started using human parts in her experiments. When deprived of materials, she gathered them from the closest source: Herself. Vassili and the Chicken Hut Now isolated from the rest of the world, Baba Yaga managed to create a special house for herself, a reflection of it's owners personality and capabilities. Now settled, she devoted herself to her magic and became the being mothers mention to make her children behave. Regardless, some chidlren still manage to fall in her grasp. The single one to ever survive, was a pale skinned and hazel eyed boy names Vassili. In one particular night of distraction for Baba Yaga, she fell asleep and left the door open when Vassili was not chained to the floor, giving him the opportunity to escape - he wouldn’t be able to cross the gate beyond the palisade but in desperation one could try. She woke up startled when she realized her mistake but was surprised by a hardworking boy finishing his cleaning of her oven. When asked as to why he didn’t try to escape he said in clear voice, rid of shivering: “Well… I had work to do didn’t I?”. A Boogieman's Requiem Regardless of how cruel some of Casters actions may be, she still has some values she takes in high consideration, such as Loyalty, although you could think of her definition more as “the opposite of betrayal”. She finds selfishness to be one of the things that are intrinsically wrong with mankind and will actively punish those who exhibit traits of such an evil around her. She does not, however, place any value in human life. Where she to find a young woman being murdered in a dark alley in front of her very eyes, she would take no action in saving her, rather preferring to punish her offender immediately after the deed was done. Only people she deems righteous can earn her respect, and she does have admiration over those pure of heart. This strikes great contrast with her nature that does not see anything wrong with murdering or torturing, and the esteem she has for morality in no way affects her behavior, nor does she have any intention of changing her ways. She knows exactly what she is and her role in this world. To put it simply, she is a boogieman that cherishes light. |
