[PTab=Profile] Character Details 1 Height / Weight: 64 inches/94 pounds Source: Here We Are Home Region: Niger Alignment: Chaotic Good Gender: Female Fara Maka Nana's Father (Fara Maka) taught her magic. Nana had a natural talent for magic and quickly became good at it. She'd practice in secret to hide the fact that she had actually surpassed her father very quickly in his teachings. He never had a clue about her rapid progress and always assumed that she wasn't nearly as good as him, though he always knew she could be. Another thing to note about her father that all the stories seem to mention is that Fara Maka was VERY ugly. And though he was a powerful warrior and people looked up to him, his looks were not as fortunate. Luckily for Nana, her father's looks never rubbed off on her and she ended up being quite a beautiful young woman. Fara Maka loved his daughter, and cared for her deeply. So he sometimes came off as overprotective, well he often did. So he didn't trust his daughter to hold her own, not until she proved him wrong that is! A Small Village, A Big Problem Nana's village grew plenty of rice, but every year right before the harvest a big hippo would come around and eat all their food. The people didn't know what to do, until one day Nana's father went out to kill it. In the end, they learned the Hippo seemed to be immune to spears and would catch them into pots around it's neck, and they would melt in the fire in them. Then the hippo would shapeshift and get away before anyone could catch him. No one knew what to do, so they went to the neighboring village for help, but even when another warrior came with one-hundred twenty hunting dogs, it was no use. Nana the hippo tosser! So when everything failed, her father came home and was all down in the dumps about the hippo. Nana was fed up with it, and despite her father's protests decided to go ahead and face the hippo head-on all by herself. Just because she was a girl she wouldn't let that stop her! So, she went and confronted the hippo and he laughed at her, not believing that she could do it. So, he attacked her with a fire spell, but she counteracted it with some dust to get rid of the flames. Then, he made a wall of fire, and Nana pulled out a hammer from her bag, and broke the wall down with it. Nervous, the Hippo shapeshifted into a river and tried to escape, but Nana was ahead of him and threw lotion at him and dried up his form so he had to be a hippo again. So, the hippo went for the low blow, and ran to attack her dad. But NO WAY was she letting her dad take her glory. So, she ran in front of the hippo, grabbed him by the leg and threw him straight into space. No More Hippos! Nana wanted to take extra precautions, so Nana went ahead and threw an egg into the river that killed every single hippo in the river to make sure that they're all dead. Nana felt as though she had done a job well done, and was quite pleased with herself. Until later she found out, that there was still one hippo left, and it happened to be pregnant. Nana was upset her egg didn't work and was ready to use another one, until her father stopped her saying that they hadn't done anything wrong. Nana eventually agreed not to kill them, and so eventually the hippos once again re-populated the earth. |
