Personal Skills Skill 01 | Sacred Bloodshed: B | A skill granted to heroic spirits with legends related to human sacrifice and other forbidden rituals. As Montezuma was the last emperor of the Aztecs, perhaps the most famous practitioners of human sacrifice, he is granted a relatively rank in this skill by association. When Montezuma successfully destroys an enemy he is able to offer them as a sacrifice to one of the Aztec gods, gaining one rank in a parameter of his choice during his next turn. For this skill to take effect, Montezuma must spill the enemy's blood, meaning creatures without blood are immune to this skill.
|
Skill 02 | Golden Rule: B- | A skill granted to those who accumulated great riches in life. The wealth of the Aztec Empire was incredibly vast, qualifying Montezuma for this skill. However, it is degraded from B to B- due to the fact that much of the empire's wealth was stolen by the Spanish in their conquest of Mexico. Due to this, Montezuma is only able to produce the famed gold and silver disks they originally presented to the Spanish as gifts, a constant reminder of Montezuma's foolishness and naivety. These disks are still incredibly valuable, ensuring Montezuma will likely never be troubled by monetary concerns. |
Skill 03 | Eternal Vengeance: C | A skill granted to those who have been grievously wronged by a particular being or group. For Montezuma, whose culture, people and empire were all destroyed by the spanish, this skill is a given. When in combat against a being of spanish origin, Montezuma's strength parameter is increased by one rank and he is cloaked in a shield of prana that deals a small amount of damage to any being that comes into physical contact with him. As a disciple of the Aztec god of wind, Montezuma's shield is akin to Wind Magecraft, knocking away any projectiles that come into contact with the shield before they hit him.
|
Class Skills Skill 01 | Magic Resistance: B+ | The class skill of the Lancer class. At rank B, Lancer is unaffected by spells with chants shorter than three verses, and is resistant to High-Thaumaturgy and Greater Ritual type spells. Montezuma's high rank in this skill is due to the blessings of Tezcatlipoca, An Aztec god whose spheres of influence include both rulership and sorcery. |
Noble Phantasm | Itztli Ehecatl - Obsidian Dagger Of The Winged Serpent | Rank: A++ | Type: Anti-Unit (Self) | Itztli Ehecatl is an traditional Aztec sacrificial knife with an obsidian blade, marred by old bloodstains and decorated with gold, jewels and a single pure white feather, a relic from the Age of Gods taken from Quetzalcoatl's wing. The dagger is the crystallisation of Montezuma's beliefs and actions, and by piercing himself with the blade he invites the incomplete spirit of Quetzalcoatl, the Winged Serpent, to overtake him, becoming an avatar of the Aztec God. (In terms of Modern Magecraft, he temporarily summons a fragmented version of Quetzalcoatl using the feather as a catalyst and his own body as the vessel) The transformation is temporary, with its duration being based on the amount of blood Montezuma has spilled before activating it. For every wound that draws blood Montezuma causes, the duration of Itztli Ehecatl is increased by one turn, up to a maximum of ten turns. When in Avatar Form, Montezuma's arms are replaced with wings and feathers grow over his body. He gains the following skills:
Divinity - A: This skill represents the servant's status as a divine being. As the vessel of the wind god Quetzalcoatl, Montezuma gains Authority over the concept of "Wind", allowing him to manipulate the wind freely to create razor wind, powerful gales and other similar meteorological phenomenon. However, Montezuma requires a turn of start-up with each use of Authority.
Shapeshifting - C: This skill represents the servant's ability to change the shape of their body. Montezuma may use this ability to change parts of his body to those of a snake or a bird.
When in Avatar Form, both Montezuma and Quetzalcoatl share control over the body, although Montezuma's reverence for his god is such that he will generally allow it absolute control. Upon reverting back to his normal form, Montezuma is unable to use Itztli Ehecatl for the remainder of the thread. |

[PTab=Profile]Character Details 1 Height / Weight : 6' 5"/ 208 Pounds Source : History Home Region : Mexico Alignment : True Neutral Gender : Male
Character Details 2 It could be said that no one ruler has ever been so thoroughly betrayed as Montezuma II. His early reign as the ninth emperor of the Aztecs was one of success, as the empire reached the height of it's power and size. He was popular amongst the people and he wanted for nothing, attended by his massive array of concubines. Then, the omens began. A comet was seen over the skies of Tenochtitlan. One of the capital's greatest temples burnt down. Ghostly women were heard crying in the palace. Each was a sign, a promise from the gods that something terrible was coming. Montezuma feared the worst, until he received word from his scouts of the arrival of a people never before seen in the Aztec Empire. Character Details 3 The report of Hernán Cortés claims that Montezuma and the Aztecs believed the white men from Europe to be avatars of the god Quetzalcoatl returned from his long exile to the shores of Mexico, while many historians claim that this was fabricated by Cortés. Whatever the truth, Montezuma welcomed the spaniards with gifts of gold. In the winter of 1519, Montezuma met Cortés at the great lake city of Tenochtitlan, where the two leaders exchanged gifts. Montezuma gave the spaniard two carefully crafted disks of precious metal, which Cortés famously melted down for their material value. Montezuma allowed the Spaniards to stay in his palace, continuing to govern his empire. Character Details 4 Eventually, Montezuma became a prisoner in his own home. The Aztec nobles were beginning to resent the presence of the Spanish army, and tensions soon erupted into open hostilities, with Montezuma taken hostage by the spaniards while Cortés was away. There are two different accounts as to what happened next. Some accounts state that Montezuma was killed by spanish troops in the ensuing battles, while the Spaniards claimed that Montezuma was murdered by his own people when he tried to give a speech from his palace. Whatever the truth, the Spanish would go on to conquer Mexico, with Montezuma's brother dead due to a smallpox plague brought to Mexico by the Spanish and his daughter pregnant with Cortés' child. While many of his children survived, The dynasty of the Aztec emperors had been destroyed for good. Character Details 5 Montezuma carries himself with the air of an Emperor. He believes himself to be a perfect example of humanity, and expects others to treat him the same way. He is incredibly vain and selfish, believing that as an Emperor he is entitled to whatever he wants, be it gold, food, drink, or anything else. Despite this attitude, he is a jovial individual, keen on befriending those he meets, for he believes an Emperor should be able to trust his people. As long as they respect his own status, he has no quarrels with anyone. This does not extend to the Spanish. Were Montezuma to meet a hero of spanish origin, he would likely attack them on sight, secretly desperate to avenge the wrongs wrought on his people by the Spaniards. They keep asking me to check these Servants when I'm trying to finish my 100% run....well, whatever. So Montezuma.
Not exactly someone I'd think of as a Lancer. May be a Berserker, or a Caster with that ritual dagger. Where's the Lance?
Sacred Bloodshed...wouldn't it need to shed blood? With all these wraiths and evil spirits roaming around, feels a bit odd to try and sacrifice a spirit to the gods. Not sure it'd work out well.
Burning Vengeance might be a bit too literal. With a favored god who really likes wind, fire feels like a poor match. There'd be better compatability if it possibly channeled a little bit of the god's element in some way.
Seems fairly tame, otherwise, if a bit of a prick. We should be able to deal with him otherwise.

Some clarification on the class: Historical artwork of Montezuma generally portrays him as carrying a staff or some type of spear, most likely meant to represent a Tepoztopilli. Additionally, Lancer-class servants do not always have to use their spear as their Noble Phantasm, as seen with Leonidas. In fact, if Elizabeth Bathory is anything to go by, one does not even necessarily have to be known for carrying a spear. Edits have been made to specify that Sacred Bloodshed only works when Montezuma draws blood from the enemy he destroys. Burning Vengeance has been renamed to Eternal Vengeance and has been changed so that servants with the skill instead have a prana aura when fighting their favored enemy, with Montezuma's shield being wind-based due to his connection to Quetzalcoatl.
